To those of you who own a Hi Point C9, what kind of problems have you had with it? How many rounds have you put through it? Is there any ammo that it doesn't like?
Unlike everyone else, I will actually address your questions.
I have a Hi-Point C-9. I've put about 2,000 rounds through it. It has jammed maybe a half dozen times.
I've fired WWB, Rem-UMC, American Eagle, Blazer Brass, and "range reloads." I can't think of any particular brand of ammo I've had a problem with, but it does really shoot the American Eagle 115 FMJ ammo well. I've fired a box or so of various HP ammo, and it worked fine with all of them. But I can't say I've fired enough of any brand of HP to say it's 100% reliabe with them, however it was with the limited number of rounds I used.
Yes, you can find other, "better" guns for not a lot more money, but they are more money. If you want to carry a Hi-Point, I can't think of any particular reason not to, other than perhaps that there aren't a lot of holsters for them, but there are some. The C-9 is not all that big and clunky, but I'll admit it's far from a "compact" either at least in my opinion.
Nope. I don't carry mine. I've got a few other guns. If it was the only one I had, I wouldn't hesitate.
