I shot a 9mm Hi Point carbine a couple weeks ago, first time I've ever shot/handled one. I kinda liked the thing! Thought I might get one. I've got a Glock in .40 S&W, so thought maybe it might be a good matchup in .40 also. But, 9mm is a little more plentiful in surplus/cheap quantities. So, now I'm rethinking the caliber. I reload .40, never liked reloading 9mm (never could seat a bullet without distorting the cases!). Probably just going to be a plinker, a truck gun, sit by the nightstand gun. Any opinions?? Thanks. Hello Greg,

I recently picked up a 995. I chose this over the 40 because I enjoy shooting 9mm pistols and I thought it would be cool to have a carbine that shot the same ammo. I don't reload, so that didn't enter into my considerations.

The 995 is surprisingly accurate and reliable. Just great. Hi-Point carbines make good beaters. They are inexpensive enough that a few dings and scratches won't ruin your supper.

Carbines eat ammo fast. 9mm is cheaper. I doubt you'll have more FUN spending the extra $ on .40 vs 9mm!
BTW; 9mm is easy to reload.

Since you have a .40 Glock, I'd recommend spending some extra money and getting a Kel-Tec Sub-2000 for magazine compatibility.
