I own both , one Hi Power and 9 1911's so I voted 1911, but the HP comes in a close second followed by the CZ-75.

1911 all the way

Had a Hi Power with adjustable sights back in the late 70"s. Terrible trigger and didn't like the muzzle flip. Safety was too small and couldn't hit crap with it beyond 15 yards. Traded it off.
Early 90's - Bought a Springfield Standard 1911 with lowered and flared ejection port and beveled mag well and the large sights. Retired US Coast Guard Gunners Mate friend slapped in a ED Brown ambi safety, Wilson speed trigger, hammer and drop in safety. Now my full time carry gun IWB WX permitting. Accurate, reliable and comforting with 9 rounds of Winchester Ranger ammo in it thanks to Wilsons 8 rd. mags.
2007. Kicking myself in the butt for getting rid of the HP. Would of put a few bucks into the trigger and swapped out the safety. Just a pretty pistol.
Still prefer the 1911 though.
Almost forgot. Bought a Beretta Vertec for IPSC 2 months ago and absolutely love it!
