Hey guys my name is Matt and I come to you in light of a conversation that I had with my step father today regarding the recent shootings in Arizona. The conversation basically goes as follows, we where sitting on the couch when I believe it was CNN that came on doing another story insight to the shooting, well as they got further in to the story the question poped up several times about wither or not the government is going to ban high capacity magazines for all weapons, pistols, assault rifles, etc. And so my step father turned to me and said good thing I just got a couple of new mags for my AR ( FYI: he just got a new m4, bought the upper and lower and all of the other pieces that he needed to put it together and was planning on getting more mags anyway) so anyway I ask why do you say that? Well since the Government in going to be banning them most likely my guess is that they will go up in price with all of the people panicing over this trying to get as many as they can. I told him that I didn't believe that to be true and that its really to early to tell. We both checked several different websites and so far the price for mags hasn't changed yet. I just wanted to get an outsiders opinion on this matter just to hear some new ideas, and sorry about all of the reading I tried to cut out as much as I could but please don't be afraid to answer.

In before the lock... there's already a dozen threads like this.

But to answer you: the way I see it, we have more to worry about from the anti-gunners now, and they will have swayed some of the emotional fence-sitters to their side.

But it's still very unlikely to actually happen, because congress 1) is relatively second-amendment friendly right now, or at least neutral, and 2) value their employment.

No one that said that they would not back further gun laws back in election time would have a seat waiting for them next term, if they banned anything.

I'm a new member so I had no idea that there where other very similar posts like this of coarse I didn't consider that until I posted, but my real question was if wither or not you think that mag prices will go up or not. And thanks for the reply's. I did find this whilesurfing the web so maybe it will have more insight to both you and me.

Ban the 33 rounders, but the 17 rounders in my Beretta 92 are much less dangerous.

Carolyn McCarthy & the Bradys are already working to exploit this for their gain.

Yes, there are several other threads on this. If you do a search, or just scan down the first page in General, you should be able to locate them.

Yes, the usual "Anti" suspects are hollering for such a ban. Just like always.

No, the political climate is not particularly favorable for any anti-gun action, so it isn't likely to go anywhere.

And yes, some places probably will bump their prices up a few bucks for the next month or three. Merchants will generally take a few bucks more for something if they can get it. If you didn't need a 33-rd. Glock (or whatever else) mag LAST month, you probably don't really need to rush out and buy one now. If you still want one in three months, the prices will probably be right back where they were.
