High Point 9mm info

Just was flipping through the news adds and found a new High Point 9mm for $110 dollars. Comparing the new price ($155.00) to the one in the paper, I thought it was a rather good deal. What I'm wondering is, what's the quality of the High Point handguns, the accuracy, and if they are good for a tight-budget-automatic shooter. Thanks for y'alls help.

I have a C9 myself. The quality isn't perfect, my pistol has a few rough spots here and there, but nothing major and nothing affecting function. Accuracy was pretty good, though I've only had about 150 rounds through it. I think its a good range gun, nothing fancy is needed to throw lead downrange.

I have heard some people using it as a CCW, though I haven't had mine long enough to trust it that much.

That is a pretty good price, I paid $156 out the door for mine.

I have had nothing but poor at best experience with hi-point others have faired much better. I would recomend saving another hundred and look for some thing better.

For that price I would get it. If it doesn't function properly you can send it back and they'll fix the problem. I wouldn't recommend it as an only gun though. I have the hipoint 45 and found it to be a great value for the money.

They are what they are... a cheap gun with a good warranty. I own one. It lives in my locked car. My good and more expensive guns live in the house in the locked safe. I carry a more expensive gun when I think I will be going in an area where it is remotely possibly that a gun may be needed. I keep the Hi-Point in the car for the same reason I keep a spare tire in the car, you never know when you may need it so it is always there.

I haven't fired this one much but is has been accurate and dependable so far. The first one I bought was back before the Klinton presidency (spit!) and, as far as I know, it is still going strong (I gave it to my brother YEARS ago after I shot it for several years myself).

Never shot one myself, but the carbine is supposed to be fun, and the pistols are Big, Ugly, and mostly reliable.

This is a biggie for an under $200 gun. Many of the $1000 guns don't have that.

Look at it this way: The cost of the gun is two, maybe three tanks of gas, and will last a lot longer, and be a lot more fun.

Hey, I paid almost nine times that for one handgun and it still would not function. If I needed a gun and a Jackson and a Grant were all the money I had, without question I would get a Hi-Point.

I have a C9 & have had only good times with it. I paid $130.00 out the door new & they threw in a box of ammo, this was a couple of years ago. $110.00 is a real bargin. Thinking about picking up the carbine, Dunham Sports has been running them @ $159.00. A good value, the perfect range gun, I'd buy another in a heartbeat. NRA PATRON LIFE MEMBER
