I always take my S&W 38 spl. As far as ammo? I don't know because all I can find near me is Winchester fmj. at $45 50 rds. Ridiculous and Aggravating.
I don't know. I may kind of agree with him. I'm in a hotel right now. The walls are sheetrock and I don't know if there is anything in them that will stop any ammo. A thug breaks in right now guns blazing, What am I going to do. Tell him to go stand over there so I can shoot back without worry my ammo may go through the wall ? At a time like that all thoughts and reason goes out the window except one. Self preservation.Just my humble opinion, but this is some of the worst advice I've ever seen in print. This will turn an innocent citizen into a defendant in a criminal homicide investigation. Get real. YMMv but this guy needs to re-evaluate his sanity. Rod
Well some folks figure it this way, better to be tried by twelve than carried by six. In the situation I covered earlier had that been our room and had some lunatic broken down the door and had it not been NY leaving me less a gun I would have opened fire and worried about the consequences later. So you find yourself in a situation you never dreamed could happen with your life and lives of loved ones on the line. You should worry about motel wall construction or where missed shots may go? Not like there is time to place thought into the problem. You come away alive or you are dead and the lunatic walks away. I choose me.Just my humble opinion, but this is some of the worst advice I've ever seen in print. This will turn an innocent citizen into a defendant in a criminal homicide investigation. Get real. YMMv but this guy needs to re-evaluate his sanity. Rod
You cannot hesitate to shoot just because you don't know if there is someone in another room. Remember, it is a GUN FIGHT, so gun safety goes out the window.
That thought is naive, and the idea is reckless. The walls are sheetrock and I don't know if there is anything in them that will stop any ammo. A thug breaks in right now guns blazing, What am I going to do. Tell him to go stand over there so I can shoot back without worry my ammo may go through the wall ? Bummer. I thought you were going to show us a special factory gun like a Banker’s Special — the Hotel Detective Special or something like thatKind of odd question, but does anyone change their gun or load if you are staying in a hotel? Obviously, over penetration could be an issue. Appreciate any insight folks offer.
Isn’t the basic rule “Walls don’t stop shi-?.”Naive, reckless??
The thug breaks in your hotel Room. Guns blazing. What you going to do?
Say excuse me. Can we go outside? This room has sheet rock walls and I don't know if they will stop my bullet.
I don't care who you are. How much training you have. In a situation like that there is a Good possibility that at least some of your shots could miss your target Completely.
And don't hand me that about checking to see what the walls are made of. I'm in a 15 story hotel right now. If I was to go down and ask if the walls would stop a hand gun round. They would probably think I was some kind of nut and have me carted off by the cops. There's not one person in this hotel that could have any idea.
In that kind of situation Self Preservation kicks in. There's all kinds of possibilities that things could go wrong. If you don't want to face those possibilities. Maybe you should just leave your gun at home. Because you can't avoid them.
I like the "thug breaks into your room. Gguns blazing" part. What are you, a drug lord?? Get real...you are not that big a prize..
Front desk registry..How does one know who had that room last?
