How about this 357 cal rifle

That's on par with a 38+P or 9mm 1000fps/140 gr bullet.

Not exactly 'dangerous game' but highly respectable power.

If only they could find a way to let us recharge them at home.

Ratshooter, I think you missed the point

No Dave I got the point. I was just hoping it was a more standard type firearm and was a little disappointed it was an air rifle. And I bet an expensive one at that. But it was still neat. I wish they would have shown it being used and shot more. Mainly it was just showing the features. Show me some photos of groups at 75 yards and some of the animals it is suitable for and that will get my attention better. But thanks for posting the link.

I have a Marlin 357 lever action and it is my favorite gun of all I own. And at one time I wanted an air rifle around 30 caliber and would have spent some serious money on it. But I bought a Marlin 1894 in 32 mag and of course reload for it. I have some light loads that shoot a 76gr lead bullet at just over 900fps and they are as quiet a CB 22 rounds and hit pretty hard. That sorta killed my desire for a high powered large caliber air rifle.

And I do own 9 air rifles and shoot them often just to stay in practice.

They can be filled/recharged at home or in the field from a scuba tank. Thay are pricey at around $1, 300 now. When they first came out in 2011 they were around $800 I think.

If you guys are airgun buffs there is a good article in the March/April Backwoodsman magazine about the Sumatra 25 and 50 caliber guns. The author had custom molds made by Veral Smith for both guns. He used the 50 cal to kill a small whitetail doe. That one article alone is probably worth the price of the magazine.

Veral Smith told the author that the 52gr 25 caliber bullet at 900fps would kill a 1200lb steer. I am looking at my Beretta 950BS in a whole new light. I might start calling it "Steer Killer". If the 25 won't do it I am certain my PP in 32acp is just the ticket.

This is the only mag I buy anymore. There are some helpfull articles and a few good recipes. I have used a jerky and bread recipie myself.
