My first gun was a FEG .32 auto that my grandfather picked up in France during WWII. He said all his buddies wanted a Mauser or Walther from a German soldier but he picked this pistol up off of a windowsill in a small village that was all but abandoned.
He gave it to me when he and my grandmother decided to sell the house and move to a retirement community. I kept it and fired it at one range session, then put it away. After I graduated college, got a job and got married, it was stolen from the apartment I was living in here in Cincinnati.
I still have the leather holster and one magazine (the other was in the pistol). The police were wholly uninterested when I filed a report.
Granddad's gone now. I had no plans to fire the pistol any more, but I sure wish I still had it
