IIRC, about 6 weeks for certificate of CCW training + 4 weeks for APP to go to State Police and be returned to the sheriff's dept.
- about 10 weeks for me here in Kentucky.

applied on Feb 14th (how romantic, eh?) recieved on May 30th.
my permit is good for three years, but as of July 1st, all new permits are good for 5 years. also, a few of the restrictions were relaxed. (previously, we couldn't carry any where that served alcohol. now we can carry if they make less than %50 profit from alcohol.)

I was told I'd have my permit in about a month. It was delivered three weeks later. It was supposed to be good for a year, but turns out to be good for four.

Wait a bit to get form - fill in form - take to clerk - wait for background check - hand over $21.50 - wait a bit whilst D/L copied and added to permit sheet - wait for that sheet to be reduced and laminated.
Walk out .. probably no more than 20 minutes tops!

i don't know why it was so fast. i was expecting a wait. i went to the Tacoma courthouse on Tacoma Ave. (imagine that?) i filled out the app, paid the fee, went upstair to be fingerprinted and it was waiting for me when i got back downstairs. just lucky i guess. i'm going to apply in Oregon next time i'm down there becuase i fly there a lot just for fun. will post on the experience when it happens.

How long did it take me to get it or how long it took them to process the application? I used up every bit of the 6 months I had to send it off before I had enough spare cash ($135) to send in the application. After they received my application it took about a month and half to get it back.

I applied at the Courthouse in Downtown Seattle. That place is scary. Metal detectors, X-Ray machines, the works. I even had to hand over my Leatherman to the deputy on duty! Application process was pretty painless though and the clerks were nice.
A friend of mine just moved down to Oregon and applied for his CCW. Said it was pretty much the same as Washington law except that he had to take a safety class on top of everything else.

Multnomah County, Oregon, 45 days for appointment, 45 days from appointment.
Applied for out of state Washington permit on monday in Clark County, they said 60 days, we'll see.
