I didn't quite tell the truth - I bought two shotguns, a Walker revolver, an in-line muzzle-loader, a Hi-Point carbine, and I traded for a beat-up AMT .45 Back-up.

The AR's Del-Ton kit was bought in December, but was delivered in January, as well.

So I actually only bought five, but netted seven in 2009.

Alot, not really because of the Obama gun rush but I came into some money. It was actually really annoying just trying to buy guns as a normal shooter in the first 6 months of this year with all the new shooters buying everything up. But hey can't blame them for joining the hobby and now flooding the market with never shot used guns. :)

CZ-452
Glock 17
S&W Model 34-1 .22LR kitgun
FN HiPower
CZ 75 Compact
Ruger 22/45 MkIII

Ended up selling the Glock 17- just not a good match for my hand. I still highly recommend Glocks for the reliability and wide availability and affordability of parts, accessories, addons, and CCW gear.

I aint telling nobody and since there's no gun registration, nobody needs to know. I might have bought one and had it stolen before I got home, therefore no paper trail.

I bought my first gun ever september 2009. Have bought 5 total since then, probably another one tomorrow.

Well, you certainly ain't wasting time.

I normally purchase 1-2 guns per year. This year, was, however, special, as I was finally able to purchase handguns. So, putting into effect 2 years of research, I started locating and buying specimens of what I desired.

I voted seven. The true number is a little fuzzy due to some trades and others purchased through private sales....... The real number of guns I own or guns I purchased in a particular year........ I'm not posting that on the Internet!!!!

I'm curious. What was your first pistol? I have a year and a half to go and I've been spending quite a bit of time researching what I want for SD and HD [Along with the 12-gauge]

The first pistol I had extensive experience with was a Ruger Security Six, .357 Magnum, 4" barrel. I have also CCWed it quite a bit.

The first pistol I purchased for myself was the Glock 17.

I highly recommend that you first purchase a quality .22 pistol and spend some time with that, and take at least a basic and hopefully intermediate handgun class, and also get your CCW class (if necessary) taken care of.

I also recommend that if at all possible, you find a range in your area (or within a couple hours drive) that rents a selection of handguns for you to try out before purchasing your first centerfire pistol. Once you narrow down a list of what you like to actually shoot (and that's after shooting at least 50-100 rounds to try out a pistol) then you research it to find out the quality of the pistol and availability of what you need for it (holster, magazines, etc).

Yes, that method can be a bit pricey, but it will help you formulate a base of knowledge on handguns that work/don't work for you and that is invaluable.

.22 is on the list. I have some pistol shooting experience with friend's and friend's of friend's guns. Probably about 20 or so rounds out of a few auto-loaders and revolvers in the major calibers.
I want to get a a defensive pistol on the day I turn 21, but I may wait until I can get to a range to try out various guns, and get my CCW pretty soon after 21. I want to give myself at least a few days of heavy shooting to know that I can do what my pistol expects of me for the range portion of the CCW class. I've got to find a good range, anyone know of a good one in the Eastern NC area? Thanks for the advice.

8 for me.

- 2 Marlin Model 60s (I gave one to my dad for father's day)
- 2 S&W Model 15s (a 2" and a 4")
- Heritage Rough Rider Combo 5.5" 22LR/Mag
- Ruger Redhawk 5.5" .44 Mag
- Ruger Police Service Six 4" .357 Mag
- S&W Model 13 3" .357 mag

I've never bought that many guns before in a single year. I guess it was because my life was just crazy busy, between home and work, and money I would normally have spent on ammo went to guns.

In 2010, I see myself buying one, maybe two, as my life should finally be getting back to normal. At least I hope so, 2009 (and much of '08 for that matter) was nuts.

If it comes with 2 barrels is it 1 or 2? Ether 5 or 7. I may trade for one also. Will that count as another?

You know I have guns that I have not fired in years. Why should I waste my resources on more guns when I do not shoot what I have. Better to take training courses, train with what you got, and buy ammo&accessories, etc.

Last tuesday I took a somewhat recent glock purchase and a
PF-9 (I have only fired it a little under my house in last two years), and browning take down .22 norinco copy. I had not fired it since about 1997. Everything worked fine. The trip to range was to show these guns to my colleague to show him my glock and keltec so he could compared these to his sigma VE 9mm. The glock is my to go handgun but I still love the other guns that I have.
If I buy any thing it will be a better pellet gun to kill squirrels. I have in excess of 20 guns, why buy more? You know beware of the man with one gun.
