One HIPoint 45acp.

Some ammo.

5 AR15 mags.

probably some stuff I forgot about.

Might be $500.

I'm glad to see I'm not in the lead here. I've spent between $5k - 10k. I'm still waiting on a few items that were special ordered and assuming they come in before I leave for Minnesota, I'll have spent somewhere between $12k-$15k by the end of May. Somebody else here has spent over $15k.

So far this year, less than $500, and that includes the $400 I spent on the Romanian Tokarev and the 1224 round spam can. I got my black stuff and ammo for it before the rush.

I tell you what, If I won the lotto today I am 90% sure that I would spend $80k by the end of the month on guns and ammunition.

Unfortunately Ive only spent around $500.:cuss:

Jeez -

Maybe 400 bucks.

Firearms do not need to be the loss leader

For your family budget.

Depends on what you mean by "spent". I've done a lot of horse trading this year, selling some over priced guns and ammo (anything tacticool) and found some great deals on old classics. I really haven't got that much money out of pocket.

Around $2k; a blue 4" '67 Python, an FNP-45 USG, some extra mags at $37 each, some accessories, and 2 boxes of 9mm ball. And another coated wire handgun rack for the safe.

Good thing I stocked up on ammo over the past 10 years.

I quit smoking over a month ago. $5.50 a pack is real money. I wouldn't pay it years ago in Atlantic City or the Bahamas and I won't pay it here. I'm sure they'll find something else to tax me on. :)

Well I bought about $4,500 worth of guns and loading supplies so far this year but I sold about that much out of my collection so I guess I am really nothing out of pocket.

Under or close to $500.00 total.

This includes various field gear for
our SHTF bags to be used in the
hopefully unlikely event that SHTF.

I think we are good to go. :D

Gander and the local gun shops have gobs of ammo but I refuse to pay their outrageous asking prices. 20 rounds of .223= $14.95, 50 rnds of .40cal=$39.95. Went to Wal Mart and bought 80 rnds of Blazer 40cal for $24.00. Odd that Wal Mart can buy it and sell it at half the price others do. I will never purchase another item from Gander or my local gun shops again. One local range wanted $40 for 40 rnds, in Palm Beach County Fl. you can only use ammo supplied by the range, of cheap reloaded ammo plus the hourly fee to use the range.

Option #6 reflects my year so far.
All of it was at either on sale,
discounted, or otherwise at a low
price nobody else could come close to.
I don't just throw my money away.

We wont be buying much ammo at some of the current prices that some retailers are asking.
I don't begrudge them either for exercising free market strategies.
But that doesn't mean we will forget who is doing it either.

Sad really, as I now have a new small group who wants to
learn more about responsible gun ownership.
They want me to take them to the range to get some hands on experience
but I'm down to my minimum safe back up stock levels.
I suppose I could ask them all to pony up the $$ for the ammo they are going to shoot.
But I'm more inclined to just eat a couple of bills and pay for it myself.
Don't want them to shy away due to this influx in ammo prices.

Actually not as much as I spent during pre-election years. It's not that I slowed down post-election because of the increase in prices, but because I shopped early and I got what I needed long before anyone heard the name Obama. BTW, your poll doesn't include accessories some of which can be more expensive than guns and ammo.

About 350?

New grips for one gun, a Hi Point Carbine, some ammo. Probably going to spend another 50 or so here for a red dot.

Wow, THR members have spent somewhere between $300,000-$342,000 so far this year.

I spent a lot more in 2007-08. This year it has been only a few bulk packs of .22 and some defensive 9mm loads. No new guns, no ammo stockpiles. I refuse to feed the beast.
