How much money have you spent on guns and/or ammunition in the year of 2009. I'm just curious how much THR members have been "stimulating" the economy. ;)

ETA: I posted a private poll (your screen-name will not show up publicly after voting) so that you don't have to specifically post it.

2009 - zero, got laid off late 2008 :banghead:
2008 - don't ask, I don't even want to know. I started stocking up in Jan 2008. :D

I voted 250 to 500 but this is normal for me as I shoot every month. The amount just did not get me as much as it did before.

Too Much, and I didn't include the $1000 I've spent on reloading setup and supplies.

A PPS here, a Whitney Wolverine there, a nice Ruger Mark 1 somewhere else, and pretty soon it adds up to real money. :)

I only keep track of firearms. After I read your post, you included ammunition.... I could only guess but there has been a constant dribble coming home with me since January 1st. So, it is probably more than I first thought.

Well, I have toned it down a bit, but I try not to let things like the market keep me from enjoying my hobby. I've bought 3 handguns, and ammo. Don't get me wrong, the market is making things tough, but I can't stop. My name is John, and I'm an addict........

I have bought a couple of pistols, nothing I would not have bought anyway. I need some 158 Gr .38 bullets, although I have plenty of other stuff to shoot. I dropped the ball on stocking up on them last year. Thought I had more.

2 bricks of 22
and 2 cartons of primers -Im guessing about 75$
Oh yea the Box of 44 -40 I bought by mistake for my 38-40 at $40.00

it would be somewhere between 1000-2000.

two springfield m1 garands and ammo and loading dies, brass, bullets, powder, primers, denatured alcohol, turpentine, boiled linseed oil, slings,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,wow, maybe more than 2k.

The poll is for everything gun related. This includes guns, ammunition, reloading supplies, gun parts, gunsmithing tools, etc.

I admit with range visits, reloading, ammunition, and new guns it must be over 5,000 dollars granted I have sold and traded a few guns this year as well. However I have never bought more than 5 boxes of any given ammo at one time so don't think im one of those hoarders. When I visit a gun or sporting store I check to see what kind of ammo they have and I might pick up a couple boxes.

I would think my major purchases would be as follows:

Kimber Custom II

Springfield Loaded 1911

Para GI Expert

Armalite M15

Walther P22

Taurus PT92

Lee Turret Loader and accessories

Very little. I pick up a box or two of ammo anytime I happen upon it in order to replace what I shoot, however, my largest gun-related expenditure this year has been gasoline getting to and from the range.

About $500 on ammo and $600 on guns (a .22 rifle and an LCP).
I am pretty much buying ammo whenever I find it at Walmart to keep my cost down. I am right at 1000 rounds of .40 and .380 combined, and 5000 of .22. I average shooting 200 .40, 50-100 .380, and variable amounts of .22 every week though, so this is not alot in comparison to my use (aka: I need it! :D)

As of today, probably $150 on components and match fees so far.

I have another set of dies and related equipment and components on order, as well as a G32 that will be my first firearm of the year.

That is actually a very low 4 month stretch for me. But like some others, I refuse to pay panic prices for anything. Maybe the panic has a sliver lining.

500 out the door for a brand new P345.
maybe 200 or so on bullets/range time
20 bucks crap holster
20 bucks decent holster
60 bucks simply rugged holster
50 bucks simply rugged belt
10 bucks on nail polish to paint my sights to something other than white.
30 bucks on 2 factory mags so I can have 4 mags.
30 bucks on golden sabers for the house defense.
40 bucks for the CCW permit

So, around 1k.

Bought a box of .22 Minimags the other day.

So I think I am right around $15 for the year.

WANT to spend lots of money on primers and powder, but can't find any :cuss:
