Well it's finally over with. Saturday My Fed Ex driver, son in law, son, and I all completed our CC class this past weekend. I have an appt. with the Sheriff at 12:00 tomorrow to sign up for my permit.

I have to say that I was shocked at the information that is given out in the class. I would say that anyone with a back ground with pistols could get a passing grade on the written test without going to the class.

I thought much of the info was very basic in nature then I saw some of the scores from some of the other students. I then realized that not everyone has a background with firearms and the info that is given out IS very important to them.

All in all it wasn't bad. We completed it in one day starting at 7:00 am and going straight through until it was completed and then going straight to the range for the live fire portion of the class.

So I'm hoping to have my permit in about 3 weeks, then I be able to join the ranks of all of my fellow gun toting Americans.

You gotta love this country!

I'm still underage until October this year. My girlfriend just turned 21 yesterday, so she will have hers soon, within the next month or so.

My brother has his. So does my grandfather.

I actually just called the Police Department this evening to see if they could locate a firearms instructor to teach me some basics of self defense with a pistol while I'm at home, and maybe teach my mom and girlfriend.

My father works away during the week, so it's mostly my mom and me around the house. If I go somewhere, she's at home by herself....

We've all shot guns. I'm the "gun guru" around the house. We're not afraid to use'em, and definitely not my mom. She has a Kel-Tec P11 in her nightstand with 3 mags roaring to go.

I am going to get mine within the next month or two. Classes are pretty full. Just waiting for some cash to pay for and I am good to go. Bought my first handgun end of November been shooting just about every week... I am very anxious to take the class and get the permit though!

Have an appointment Wed at 12:30 to turn in the application in Warren County. From what I've heard I'll have my CHL by the following Wed.

I went and got mine as well, if you're not already a member, make sure you join Ohioans For Concealed Carry, it's a non-profit organization with a nice forum for us like minded individuals and it fights to uphold our rights and further our interests as armed citizens here in the Buckeye state. Also a good place to ask questions about Ohio CHL laws and keep up to date on political issues involving CCW in Ohio. Three weeks is probably a good expectation, counties with a large population usually take a while longer than the more rural counties but in todays political climate you may find that there's a lot of people getting their CHL's. Remember, they are by law required to issue it in 55 days from receiving the application I believe, if not a friendly letter to the sheriff threatening a court order usually gets the ball moving.....

Train and carry often... Our state is safer with responsible armed citizens.

Got my State of Indiana LIFETIME LTCH (License To Carry Handgun) license today! Concealed or open carry is the same in Indiana.I love the Hoosier state when it comes to firearms laws.

I AM LEGEND, thanks for the link. CCW is becoming a VERY popular thing to do here in the Buckeye State.

I got mine on election day, lol. Didn't plan it that way. Well, ok, I didn't plan it exactly that way.

Oh, and I only had a 24-hour turnaround from the time I applied until the time they called me and told me to come pick up my license. Very impressed.

I did, but not because of the election. I put my application in a long time before the election. It took 10 months for NY state to process it.

I did, and my 21 year old son has just sent off for his. All three of my boys took the Florida CCW class, but two of them are still too young to CCW in Florida (you have to be 21).
