I have carried snubs for a long time off and on they have all had an expose hammer and never had a problem of snagging it. I think this say alot since I carried one for 7 years undercover and have used many forms of carry. Inside the boot, ankle carry, just in the waist band of my jeans, pocket carry ect. I went back to a snub a few years ago and this time it was my first enclose hammer one, s&w 642. If I had it to do over again the hammer spur would of been removed from all of my past snubs. For me anyway it just make it so much easier not to have to worry at all about the hammer snagging. I can't say for sure but it seems I'm a lot faster drawing the 642 then any of the others since i don't need to make any adjustments to keep the hammer from snagging. My point is even if you have never had a problem and you carry the weapon for sd one without an expose hammer might still be the best thing.
be safe
