No, the race card doesn't get played.

I have never been delayed that I know of in well over fifty purchases.

I have two felony arrests, no convictions, in my past
I recently found out that there are two bureaucratic misdemeanor charges against me now, but I was still approved for a recent handgun purchase

Over the years I've bought 9 guns and was delayed once. I was very surprised since I've got a perfectly clean record (not even a single speeding ticket). But a couple days later they called my gunstore back with the all-clear and my gunstore called me and I picked up my gun.

It happens. From what I've heard, 99% of delays end up going through fine in the end.
