How many reloads on your 9mm?

I have no idea how many times my 9mm brass has been reloaded. My very first step for reloading is a quick inspection. Any flaw, no matter how slight and the case goes into the bucket. Then I tumble clean and give them a good look see. Glance at primer, headstamp, case mouth, general condition. If any defect or even a questionable flaw, it goes in the bucket. I consider "feel" as a case is sized/deprimed. If too light, into the bucket. I have a hard time leaving brass at the range (I have looked for one 45 ACP case for 30 minutes. and every 30-06 case is accounted for no matter how long it takes). I don't get too upset if I lose some 9mm brass, but I prefer not to...

I have some thats been fired 7 and 8 times. Have lost a few due to body splits or loose primer pockets but most seem to be holding up well. I lose more loss than to case failure. I load 9mm in batches of 5000 so I don't have any loaded more than 8 times.

I burned up all the zombie 9’s I loaded so I’ll need to make more and get a pic for you. I blackened brass cases using Berchwood-Casey brass black and loaded the green 125gr ACME’s. Very manbun:D
I was going to buy some of that after you suggested it a while back but then saw myself heading down yet another endless reloading related path to nowhere.

Those zombie 9s shoot pretty good from my M&P9. I only got one box and they’re gone but I might need more for my annual son & daughter zombie shoot.

I haven’t kept up with the number of times I shoot my 9 mm brass but nearly all of it came from a large box of once fired brass or range pickup from people shooting factory ammo around me. Now that I think about it there are some probably in there that have been fired four or even five times.

In case you decide to go the full zombie route and blackout the brass, don’t forget to neutralize the brass black and clean the insides before loading.

I don’t have a good way to track the number of times reloaded for my semi-auto calibers so I just go with the “load em till you can’t load em anymore” approach. I’ve picked up cases that have been sharpie marked but most of them are the .38 super crowd.

I don’t know either, enough times I don’t count. If there are no primers in a case after a 15 minute post load tumble, they obviously are retired.

I figure, if it's okay for the factory to do, it's okay for me also
Sure, I understand. I know folks that do it.

I know that some factory ammo is tumbled after loading.

I know it gets tossed around during shipping, essentially getting tumbled in the handling.

I still can't do it. I can not seem to make myself toss loaded ammo into a vibrating tumbler.
