I voted 100-200 before I thought about it...its actually about 250-350 for me. I usually go through 3-4 mags through my AR, taking my time trying to get good groups, then a couple more rapid fire drills. Then I go through anywhere from 5-10 mags through various pistols, with a couple of rapid fire drill in there too.

My head would start spinning if we included all my .22's and how much they get shot.:D

I definately don't go out there trying to blow through as much ammo as I can. That stuff is expensive and just pulling the trigger to hear a bang is a waste of my time and money.

When I go, I usually go with a couple of friends and I try to enjoy the whole experience, taking breaks and watching my buddies shoot and "shooting the S***" with them as well.

100-200, thereabouts. Usually 2 or 3 guns with about a box or better for each. When it runs over that is when the .22s come out or when it's an outdoor range, especially when the .22s come out.:D

Last time I went out

~ 10 reloads with my 5906

That would be 46 rounds x10 reloads --> 460 rounds

Then got the .22LR's warmed up --> 1 Value pack of Remington Golden Bullets @ 525 rounds / pack...

Close to 1000 rounds...

Don't do that all the time though... would get kind of expensive.

twice a week

I'll go thru about 300 rounds per trip to the range and tend to go twice a week. Thank God for reloading!:)

I usually go twice a month and shoot 100 rounds of .40 and either 50 P3ATs or 9mm. Sometimes I go crazy and shoot a whole lot more though. It is getting pretty expensive to shoot down here since you have to buy range time and range ammo.

Unfortunately time and funds are in short supply these days. I try to make every range visit an "event". I squirrel away 100 rnds here and there, put aside money for range fees etc. Then I look for an opportunity to get away from the basic drudgery of everyday life. I try to get down to the range every 2-3 months or so and shoot about 200 rnds. If I go with my wife the count might be higher.
I know when I shoot my auto's, the round count is about 50% higher!

I've been loaded up ready to shoot 200-400 combined handgun/rifle/shotgun (all reloaded by me).

Then I get to the outdoor range and there's not many people and ... Ooooohhhhhhhh... lots of nice fresh brass on the ground! An hour later I realize I am gonna have to forget either the trap shooting or the AR-15 or the .243 or something or another because time's running short and I was being a scrounger instead of shooting... ;)

I shoot MG's, under a thousand is like Kissin' your sister why bother.:what:

If I'm shooting .22's, I shoot a couple bricks per session.

If I'm shooting big guns, I shoot between 100 and 500 rounds, depending on what kind of shooting I'm doing.

My days of blowing through a case of .223 are long gone. No day's entertainment is worth $300, unless it comes with a happy ending.

Ruger 22/45 = 100 rounds/week
Taurus Mil-Pro 40 = 50 rounds/week
XD-40 = 50 rounds/week
SKS = 30 rounds twice a month
Marlin 22 magnum = 30 rounds twice a month

200-260 rounds a week.:D

Even when I was instructing I almost never went through large quantities of the ammo provided. Most I can remember was about 150 rounds of .38 wadcutter once and that was unusual. The course of fire was 72 rounds of .357/125 or other duty load, and I usually ran some man-on-man or timed popper drills, or some other stress exercises in addition to that.

I can get out anytime I want and if using the wheelgun I do singles--timed draws in "ball & dummy" mode. That usually means 15 rounds fired and about 30 draws. Enough to stay in practice, a bit of a workout, and still fun.

If using a .22 pistol I might go through a whole box of 40.

With high power rifle I start back at 300 yards and work in ending up at 25 yards on a timer. That's 18 rounds in .30 cal. and 28 in 5.56.

As I recall the API 250 pistol course at Gunsite expended around 600 rounds over 5 1/2 days and that comes out to a little over 100 rounds per day.

100 .45ACP ropunds isn't cheap ...

at least to me.

So I tend to shoot that much or less each trip. (And since force breeds resistance, I *will so* count my .22 ammo, but in a separate pile -- usually 50-100 of those.)

EDIT: Sorry, spello in the title -- I'm dumb ;) "rounds."

I usually bring 200 rounds of 9mm or 45 acp and a Wally World value pack of 22lr's...makes for a good time!

Perhaps my answer is a little skewed. The range we have is more of a junkyard and you can shoot anything you want. I blow through quite a bit. It's getting to the point I'm taking donations for ammo costs whenever friends come with.:scrutiny:

I finally had the time to start reloading again, so I'm slowly replenishing my stocks of .30-06 (I was finishing up all my old corrosive milsurp stuff so I could use the brass), but nowhere near enough for a good range day yet (hooray for single-stage presses).

I have a bunch of Wolf .223, but I loaned my AR to a cop buddy who needed it for his qualification and training, so I haven't been shooting that recently.

I'm down to 150 rounds of practice .45 ACP, maybe 50 rounds of 12ga birdshot (from the 100-round pack of Federal at Wal-Mart), 10 rounds of defensive 00 buck, and a few hundred rounds of 9mm (of course, I sold my 9mm pistols a while back, so I can't shoot that, though I feed it through my friend's FA Uzi). I'm totally out of .308 for the 1919 and no .30-30 for the Marlin. I sold my SKS a while back, so I have a boatload of 7.62x39 (maybe 800-1000 rounds) that I haven't been shooting.

On the other hand, I have about 5,000 rounds of .22LR, a silenced Ruger 10/22, and a Ruger Mark III (need to get it threaded for the can). The .22s have been getting almost all the attention recently. Thus, not counting .22s, I may shoot between 0-50 rounds of "actual" ammo in an average range trip. Counting .22s, probably 100-300 rounds for short trips to the local range, and a thousand or two when doing an all-day thing at the big range near here (or when shooting with friends). Sadly, I don't have any high-quality .22LR ammo (excepting CCI Standard Velocity, which is pretty good, and a bunch of high-velocity and subsonic non-match ammo), so I can't really practice for high accuracy, but it's still fun as hell.
