I have been looking- I have had the bug. I could not decide if I wanted a ruger American or an Ar to start. A friend took me to a gunshow yesterday and as a thought I took an old H&R pre 999 pistol I found this year that was pretty clean, Sure enough someone could not let it go home with me :) While I like the old gun and appreciated it it was too nice n clean for what it was and I have several smith n ruger .22 revolvers to fill that role. Anyhow a local to me guy was at the show and had an 450 bushmaster upper I was just looking at online and he dang near matched the price I could of got her online for so I could not leave without it :D

I got a 18" upper and I threw together one of my lowers when I got home. I used a surplus fixed stock I have been tripping over for years- I had bought a proper buffer tube assembly at the show. One less thing to trip over meaning to "use" one day :)

I bought one box of ammo and need to get dies brass and some bullets for it next... I also need to decide on an optic for her... I have a nice 1x4 leupold and a nice mildot bushnell 5-15 I am considering... I may also use QD mounts and sight in a red dot for the heck of it … I am not really sure what the 450 will do that my 45/70 H&R or Marlin wont other than piss off the ohio DNR on general principal but it should be fun :D

I hope it is as accurate as what most guys are reporting... it will be interesting anyhow.

Enjoy, I have a 20in 450BM. It's been a lot of fun. I put a Vortex 2.5-10x44 on mine. For hunting I will be using the Barnes TSX 275gr bullets.

I have all the parts for my 450 BM AR. Just need to put them together and mount an optic, probably a 2-7 scope.
It won't do anything that my 45-70 won't do better.

down here in Oklahoma I use a 30-30 and with that said I wonder why ya'll have to use large caliber rifles to take deer??
Some states like ohio and indiana have restrictions... until a few years ago ohio had no "rifle" options... we have "straight walled" restrictions of .38 cal and over ,certain lengths etc... If I could have had a .357 max ar it might be an option but for now this is it.... just more gov't BS and another "hoop to jump through.

well an AR won't feed 45/70 and quick mag changes are not available in 45/70 :p

Reason we need the bigger caliber up North is because the deer are bigger, not unusual to take whitetails that are between 300-to-400 lbs.
