What loads are you using and what velocities are you getting?

My latest are (21"):
95gr SST + LVR
29.1 - 2783 fps
29.4 - 2788 fps
29.7 - 2,822 fps

105 Match Burner + LVR
28.6 - 2,611 fps
29.2 - 2,714 fps
29.4 - 2,711 fps

LVR seems kind of temperamental though, so I might try Varget or StaBall next.

I don’t have a chronograph so no clue on velocities

Get solid up front with a bag in the back. I always adjust the front so that its just above the target and squeeze the rear bag with my non shooting hand to bring the crosshairs down to the target. Works with a front rest or a bipod.

Do some dry fire practice. See if the gun moves. That way you know.your not pulling shots. Dry fire is a great way to get use to the trigger and your form without wasting ammo.

Ok everyone I am looking at the Caldwell “ROCK BR FRONT REST” are they any good? Is it worth the money would you buy one? What do y’all say? @Walkalong

I also would go with the Bald Eagle. My Wichita is about 30 years old and I like it but today, I would run with the Bald Eagle.

Don't forget to get a bag. Although I am sure others could be made to work, these fit the rest perfectly.

For the round forend on that AR? Yes, the round bag.

Yes, I made the box. I made three boxes, one for down by the bench, one under the reloading table (folding legs to travel), and a load box, got carried away with the load box.

The 3" flat bags are for guns like this with flat stocks 3" wide.

I'd like a custom 1/7 barrel 5.56mm for my Mod 70 Win. made in the 80's. Can't shoot anything much over 60 gr or they sometimes hit the target leaving profile holes.

Ok everyone Next question do I clamp the fore end of the rifle in this rest I have the little bag in there and it has these side pieces that squeeze it in so question does the rifle need to be clamped in?

No. Let the rifle have a path to move backwards with the recoil. It needs a path to move and not bind. Bind mlm it up and it will effect your accuracy.
