I want it back

I can say that I've regretted selling some of my firearms, but nothing in particular strikes me. I've so far managed to keep the good ones.

However, I did sell about 14 "post-ban" 30rd magazines for my AR15 to pay some bills. I want those back.

1970 model Remmy 870 Wingmaster.

It had a beautiful "well used" blued finish, and a fresh set of walnut furniture from an 870P.

I told myself that there were thousands more out there just like it. I haven't seen them yet, lots of beat up 870 express models though....

At least it was the only gun that I have ever "had" to sell. Also, I sold it to a good friend of mine, so it is still conceivable that I could one day convince him to sell it back to me.

When I was a teenager I bought several milsurps. Due to my vision degrading and not wanting to put scopes on them I sold them all. The one I really miss is a Spanish mauser.:(

On the plus side, due to lasik I just might grab another one at some point.:)

This hurts. I've sold a lot of guns, but the ones I really truly regret are:

Colt SAA with 7 and 1/2 barrel in .44 special.
Browning T-series Hi Power.

Both of which were in mint condition with the original box for the SAA and the pouch for the Browning. I desperately needed the money and tricked them off for far less than I should have. I still cringe every time I think about it.

a 1972 Winchester 94 in 30/30, I traded to my preacher for a 1944 Finnish Mosin Nagent 1891. He then sold ot to a guy in the church who wanted it but I had refused to sell it. I offered that guy a brand new Marlin 336A for it and he turned me down.

Funny thing is i give another Winchester 94 away to another friend and I was proud to do that. He had done several favors for me.

The only one I'd really like to have back would be a Sears/Roebuck double 12 I bought when I was about 16. It was a Stevens 311, 30", mod and full. It was the first gun I ever bought on my own (Well, actually my mother called Sears and ordered it, but I picked it out, and earned the money myself).

Springfield Armory Loaded.

Traded it for a S&W 66-3 that quickly made it into my "Never To Be Sold Under Any Circumstance" list. Even though the gun I trade into was better in every way, I wish I still had it.

National Match M1A, pre 64 Win 94, pre 64 Win 70, pre 64 Win 12 20 gauge, Webley Mk V. H&R Trapdoor Carbine. All sold when I thought I needed money more than the guns. Big mistake.

Browning hi power that I bought in 1973 or 74 for about $160.00 brand new.

Sold it to a cop in late 1974 or early 1975.

About the same time the price for them doubled to about $300.00.

Believe it or not I regret selling a Taurus 445, a 4" compact revolver in 45 Colt. You can not find one today because of the Judge. It is in the hands of a very nice guy who happens to be in a wheel chair so I can not complain.

Armalite semi auto [ar-180?]. Sold to a buddy and I told him if you sell it I want first dibs. OK he says. Well needless to say I didn't get first dibs.

Where should I start?

1.) Colt Combat Commander 70 series, Satin Nickel, 45acp.
2.) S&W Model 5967 - only 500 made.
3.) Pair of Browning High Power Mk II consective numbered.
4.) Springfield Armory SAR-48, Bush model.
5.) L.C. Smith Field Grade, 20ga. approx. 80%.
6.) Savage Model 24J DL, 20ga/22 mag - a 14 b-day gift from my now dead father. :banghead:

There is a lot more that I wouldn't mind having back, but these are the one which I would "REALLY" wish that I had never sold.

Beretta 84f Cheetah series with wood checkered grips. I know it was only a .380, but I just miss that gun for some reason.

There are several. Mostly, I didn't give them second thought ... until I started reloading. THEN I wished I hadn't let them go.

1) Taurus M44 4-inch .44 mag revolver. Would have been sweet loading at .44 special velocities.
2) Marlin 1894S, also in .44 mag.
3) Marlin 1894C (.357) ... although I recently replaced this one with another. :)
4) Remington 700 VLS in .223. This one is probably my biggest regret. It was a sweet shooter ... just heavy!

No Regrets Here

I have a small circle of friends that "buy" each others guns when money is needed.
We keep these guns within the group and the original owner can "buy" his gun back, for the same amount, at any time.

Kind of like a private pawn club.

Oh there are soooo many:(

When i was in college I was buying and selling guns left and right and that was back in the day when certain guns were much more widely and a lot cheaper, especially a lot of the milsurps:banghead:

Worst of all I was really stupid in my younger years and instead of selling guns and trying to get as much money back as I could I would take them to the gun shops and trade them in:banghead::banghead:

Most of all I miss selling the Marlin .22 lever action that my grandpa gave me when I was 10 years old. It was my first gun and I had it for many years and it was a great gun. My grandpa died of cancer a few years after he gave me this gun and I'll never forgive myself for getting rid of it. Worst of all I traded it in on a POS gun that I didn't even end up keeping anyway.:fire::banghead::cuss::banghead:

Other guns I wish I still had:
My two Walther P88's
FS2000
HK Fabarm tactical shotgun
HK USC
M1a Scout Squad
Colt XSE 1911
Swiss K31
S&W Model 14

And there are probably a dozen more that I can't think of right now.

Egyptian AK that i sold earlier this year. Bought a house and needed to free up some funds. I really loved that gun though.

As long as we are all commiserating..

Back in the early days of my marriage I had to sell off my Springfield Armory M1A standard. Nothing terribly special, but that thing could do magic when stoked with South African surplus.

I also really miss my Remington 870 special field, that lil' beauty handled like a corvette....

Damn, I'm depressed.....guess I'll go clean my model 94..it was my dad's and he gave it to me....yes, he's still around too....thank God.

Ha, haven't sold anything yet, so no regret, still, I do wish I'd grabbed the two K31 that were sitting at the local 'tactical' school a few years ago, can't find one period up here in alaska, and not at 125.
