IER scopes

Anyone used the Nikon IER (scout) scopes? I've got a Leatherwood mounted on my Marlin 45/70 and really like it. Starting a new rifle (Mauser 30/06) and thought I'd try a different one. I also heard that Leupold can make a variable through their custom shop, and would be interested in that one too.

I'm looking for an intermediate eye relief of about 2-7 or 8x power. Any help would be awesome! thanks

Leupold is makeing A 2-7 variable Scout scope. Don't think it's widely available yet. Grizzly custom guns has them.
