if you could only have three guns, what would you have, specifically?

For me, its a pretty simple set.

1. Ruger MkII bull barrel in stainless steel. I like the MkII a tad better than the new MkIII, I shoot the bull barrelled guns better, and stainless requires less care than blued. For small game, I would likely add a red-dot sight to it, but just that gun, stock, would do the trick just fine.

2. Remington 870 in 12g. Reliability, easy to find parts, easy to find shells for, will take down dove to goose.

3. Stainless 4 inch barrelled .357 mag revolver. Good for medium sized game, good for defense, reliable, easy to find shells for, easy to reload, generally accurate. less punishing that a .44mag

A few guns missed my list, such as a .22 rifle of some sort, or a bigger rifle of any sort, but if I had to pick just three, I think these would be it. Even in a survival situation (I actually keep my snubby .357 in my truck so if I have to go quick, its always there. God Bless my CCW) these would be my three.

I've already got them :D

1.) Springfield Armory M1A standard. 7.62x51mm, will kill anything i come up against in the south from a pretty long ways away. M1A has legendary garand-action reliability.

2.) Springfield Armory M1911-A1 Mil-Spec. Its a 1911 in .45 ACP, 'nuff said.

3.) Remington 870 express. 12 guage pump shotgun. awesome versitility, great power at medium distance with slugs. i can shoot stuff out of the sky with it.

CZ-75B: Carry gun in 9mm, becomes a plinker with Kadet kit

Remington 870: The swiss army knife of guns as some guy said.

M1 Garand: Does this one need any explaining? :D

I changed my mind, because I thought it was pistols only :D

HK mark 23
Sawed off double barrel 12 guage
A rifle that fires the .577 tyrannosaur cartridge :what:

SA GI 1911A1 in .45 acp with Marvel conversion so I can shoot .22 as well.

AR-15 with .22 lr upper so I can shoot both .22 and .223

Reminton 870 marine magnum.

Remington 870 Express Super Mag (3 1/2" chamber) with a mag extension

Springfield M1A .308 with hicap mags

either a Springfield GI-issue hicap 1911 or a MilSpec 1911, parkerized finish and wooden grips.

I personally would choose

1. Stainless steel medium frame 3 inch 357 magnum. I could carry it concealed with relative ease and I could use it as a great general purpose handgun in the field.

2. Stainless steel light weight 30-06. I would prefer a Winchester Model 70 Featherweight, a Remington 700 Mountain Rifle, or a Tikka T-3 Light.

3. Remington 870 with 12 ga with a 3 inch chamber a 26 inch barrel and a camo finish. I really prefer autoloaders, but it is hard to beat the reliability of the pump.

I'll assume this is for fighting and not Wilderness Survival.

1. A Springfield Armory M1A, with a Bipod, arms 18 scope, and a mildot parralax adjustable scope. With a camo stock, that is glass bedded, and also let's unitize the gas system

2. A Bushmaster Xm-15A3 16'' barrel, with an EO-tec, and backup irons

3. A springfield armory XD9 service model, od green frame, 9mm.

Now you have what you should need for most situations, CCW all the way to a big firefight.

Colt Delta Gold cup SS 10mm....Oh I have that allready! :neener:

Colt Delta Hbar AR-15 .223 .....Oh have that one also! :neener:

Remington model 11-87 sp (special purpose) 31/2 in super magnum...12 ga....dont have this one yet? :what:

Only 3? Well then it's gotta be a Pistol, Shotgun and Rifle.

1. Remington 870 (Mine is an ExSuMag, but any 870 will do.)

2. 1911 (Any good one will do, mine is a Series 70, but I wouldn't turn my nose up at a SA MilSpec or Kimber.)

3. AK or AR variant. (A Krebs gun or Barrett 6.8/.223 would both do nicely, respectively, but I'd be happy with a WASR and a Bushmaster.)

Can't have EBRs in Cali anymore, so change that third one to an Yugo SKS and I have them all. A Garand or M1A could fill that 3rd slot just as well if not better.

First thing I will buy if the law changes or I move back to the U.S. is an AK or AR variant.

That's my list, but really 3 guns, thats just a crime, yeah gotta make it at least 5 so you can have a plinker and a bolt/lever action.

Hell, make it one HD shotty; an auto, revo and plinking pistol; an EBR, bolt gun and plinking rifle, and that makes at least 7 that you NEED. :D

Going with the rifle, pistol, shotgun theme as no_brakes suggested, and using just what I already have:

1. 1903A3 in .308. (If this is battlefield SHTF, put an M1 here.)

2. Sig P226 in 9mm. (Most ammo availability, and I don't have a 1911...yet.)

3. Mossberg 500. (If this is survival SHTF, put Ruger 10/22 here.)

12 guage over .308 combination gun
.22 rifle, pick a favorite, mines a model 63 Winchester
.44 magnum revolver, I have an S&W 629 5" Classic

1.) M1 Garand - range/power (also my favorite rifle)

2.) Mossberg 590A1 - versatility

3.) Springfield 1911 in .45 auto - backup to the long guns

I could be happy with my Winchester M70 Featherweight Classic in .30-06; my 4" S & W Model 686+ .357 magnum seven-shooter, and my Mossberg 535 12 gauge (with both the 24" slug barrel and the 28" barrel). Hmm, maybe I'd swap out the 686+ for one of my Gov't Model 1911s ... tough call on the handgun ...
