if only 3 you could have...
M1A socom or scout: 7.62x51 rocks. 5.56x45 was designed for Spray and Pray tactics used by draftees in Vietnam. 22 inches of barrel is just too much, 16 or 18 is more than enough (we are, after all, shooting paper plates from 200 yards, not dimes from 800 yards.)
Give it a GOOD scope mount (like a Smith or an A.R.M.S.), give it a Stock Front Swivel, with Rail
http://www.fulton-armory.com/MAParts.htm, a GG&G bipod, and a Leupold Mark 4 CQ/T (this thing kicks the crap out of the aimpoints or the aimpoint cheap knock offs. then maybe... give it a new stock (JAE-100)

Sig P226 (railed) 9mm: DO NOT even try to compare ANY other hand gun to the Sig's. Sigs have ABSOLUTELY NO safeties (except for your FRIGIN TRIGGER FINGER), VERY accurate fixed sights, SA DA triggers, Excellent Magazine capacity if you live in a "flyover red state" (which is what the hippie vegan liberals call any state other than CA and NY). A proven design with over 20 years of experience. AND FINALY... it is available in all the calibers people give a rat F#$% about. Sorry to the .45 guys but I like the Sigs in 9mm because they are the most accurate, less expensive to practice with and I would much rather have 16 rounds of 115 gr +P CorBon ammo than 8 rounds of ANY .45 load.
And my third... Dont have one. why?
"Beware of the man who has only one."
my freind has about 42 guns and he has shot about 200 round average through each one. in fact he has 2 or 3 that he has NEVER shot. needless to say he cant hit anything when we go out to the local remote paper perforation facility. I dont like to brag and I generally dont like others who do, but I can shoot gnats ass from 100 w/ M1A or from 25 w/ p226.
Actually I dont count my Ruger 10/22 cause its only good for one thing (SEE NAME OF PERSON POSTING THIS MESSAGE) stainless receiver, 17 mach 2 conversion, thumbhole stock, SQUIRRELS BEWARE...MUAHAHA
