If I could own only one Sig, it would be the P228. It has a 3.9" barrel, making it a good carry size. Although I like the P250 chambered in .357 in the compact frame. The P226 is also very smooth.

but...for practicality (aka price) purposes - the one SigSauer pistol I would own would be the one I'm looking to buy soon: The P226 Elite Stainless Steel in .357Sig. I'd take off the pretty wood grips and put on the Hogue wrap-arounds.

I purchased mine in 1999. Since then I haved shot many other SIGS but I prefer the P220 hands down!

If you're sticking to 9mm's, the 'classics' are the P226, P229 and P225/P6. They are ALL great shoots and very accurate!!
I own all three and MY favorite, because of its slim feel, accuracy and VALUE is the P225/P6... which can still be had for $300-400.



As with any gun, it's YOU... YOU gotta hold it, feel it and SHOOT it... then YOU'LL know!! But you wouldn't go wrong with either of these three!

The P220 gets my vote. Although picking a favorite sig is like picking what color your new Corvette is going to be.

I can't do just one! I'm working on a pair of a P6 and the .45 cal. P245. The P245 is, as a .45 would be, just a hair larger than the .225. That will give me a 9mm and a .45 that are basically the same size, same manual of arms.

Ive owned and carried a fair number of Sigs (220, 228,229,226).

Hands down my new 226 Elite is king. For my needs and how I use a pistol its perfect. Shooting offhand at 15-20 yards at a target (First time I had shot it) I put 5 rounds in a hole the size of a dime. My buddy who is an Army Sniper shot it with the same result.

The difference between his 229 in 9mm was honestly shocking. They are both stellar guns the Elite is just dialed in and it shows.

I just hit the 1k mark with a whole slew of ammo with 0 problems. I love new Short Reset Trigger and the beavertail. All topped off with a slew of 20rnd mags. Its my duty gun and my CCW (on jacket days).

Needless to say the 220 is a hell of a pistol too...

For me it would be either a 220 compact or a 239 in 9mm. Both because they're easy to conceal.

I have a small assortment of "other stuff." But, I do like the Sig 250. That would be my choice if I could only have one. But, I'd be cheating----I could add their other components and have three sigs, still "technically" only one!

Doesn't have that funky decocker lever that I hate,
Not as wide or tall as a P229.

After owning CZs, every other brand slide or sights seem tall.
