Hey a fellow can dream right?

It was that or the dream trip to Holland and Holland to be 'fitted' for a dangerous game rifle--prolly cost around the same.

The Comedian's custom 1911's presented to him by five term president Richard Nixon.

Did I just reveal my nerdiness?

Oh, and I did just buy the Watchmen smiley face grips for my Kimber.

Blonde select-fire Bulgarian Krinkov AK-47 in 7.62x39mm with underfolder stock and 2 black 40rd circle 10 magazines mag-cinched together.

Just ONE gun?
STG-45 Sturmgewehr
Colt Vest Pocket 1908
Colt 1903 hammerless .32
Louis XIV Browning Hi Power

That lost Broomhandle Mauser that was engraved in German, "Hold me in honor. I was held by the Kaiser..."

Oh, we're talking about rifles. How about Tim Murphy's rifle (along with documented provenance)?

The Model 12 Remington my Grandfather taught me to shoot with. Octagonal barrel. Slide or pump action. Dude could shoot empty 22 cases off of a nail on a fencepost with that thing.

I miss him and I miss that rifle.

I think my cousin is using it to prop open his garage door.

I've got a similar situation

stubbicatt,
My dad's cousin has the first gun my dad bought. It's a winchester 94 in 30-30. I offered twice what it's worth...oh well. I hope he remembers me when he wants to sell it!

The M-1 Garand. Why?

My wife and I just took a short one-day tour in Bastogne, Belgium a few days ago. A very enthusiastic youngish Flemish guy drives you around in his van to several villages and groups of foxholes, not just Bastogne and the town of Foy, as many of you read about in "Band Of Brothers".

Reg knows some of the veterans and has some really interesting first-person accounts of various skirmishes, engagements.
I stood in the same foxholes occupied by our starving, frozen troops from about Dec. 18-27 or later, 1944.
But with ammo prices what they have been, or were back in early '08, will never want to spend so much on 30-06 (or .308 etc) ammo.

I could be tempted to say a nice fully transferable Class III FAL para.

Or a high end two rifle/one shotgun barrel drilling in 9.3x74R and 12 gauge.

But I think, I'd get a nice custom Mauser 98 in 7x57 set up as a scout rifle.

My crosman 760 I received at age 3 from my father. (my first gun and favorite) I broke the stock off in junior high, and set it down in the barn. Several years later it was gone. :(
