Powder is hard to find. I am out of 231 and want to reload .357 magnun. I have an abundance of Promo and have been told by Alliant that Promo and Red Dot use the same powder WEIGHT for reploading recipes.

I asked for a .357 recipe using Red Dot, but he said that he doesn't have any for Berry's bullets. Berry's doesn't have recipes for Promo.

So making a short story long. How important is it to use the right brand of bullet. Can I pull up Nosler's or XYZ brand of .357 125 gr. FMJ bullet and simply use the Berry's bullet instead of Nosler's or XYZ?

As long as the bullet weight and shape are the same I am good????

I don't want to blow off my hand here.

Right on the Berry's site it says to consider their plated bullets as if they were cast lead. So any loading data you find for the same weight cast bullet can be used for their plated bullets.

Especially important to work up from the low end of the range if the profile of the bullet you are using is different from the tested load, as the bearing surface may be different and cause differences in friction/resistance.

Thanks I now see that on the page. Now I just need to find the load data for red dot :)

Also I like to stay near the bottom of the range :).
