Occasionaly the system works, and works well. Yes everyone send thank you notes and go patronize an applebee's. I know I will try my best to get to one in thanks. Maybe a good place for lunch today....

Mr. Hill:

Who is next ? ? ?

How about the Ohio Spineless Senate that screwed up CCW reform last session, and keeps delaying it this session......

:cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss:

And a big hearty sweeping tip of the hat to you folks that convinced Applebee's (applejam) to change their "No CCW in our joints" mindset. :D :D

Kodiak, you may be mistaken... It could be that he, like _many_ folks out there, equate firearms carry with the criminal element. They're ignorant. That, fortunately, is a curable condition.

It could be that he has taken a step from the "anti" side of the street a bit closer to the "pro" side of the street.

Who knows - we may, in fact, gain a few converts with this. The path from ignorance to knowledge can work.

This is satisfyingly remarkeable ..... it'd seem that perhaps, just perhaps ..... apart from any influence from ''them up top'' .... that he may just actually have stopped to THINK about the whole issue.

Kudos to all.... the emails were more than worth while .... powerful in fact.

I got a response back to the e-mail I sent to Mr. DeAngelo also, so Maybe we did turn a few heads.

So, lets get together sometime in the future and do this whole thing again.

:D

I also e-mail him a thank you and commented on how much my youngest son enjoys Applebee's baby back ribs.

I got the same note this morning.
I can now put Applebee's back on my list of places to try someday.

I was surprized to see such quick action on this.

The family and I will be there tonight.

I'll bring a copy DeAngelos letter just in case.

Posted this on the wrong thread:

I walk into an Applebees on 6/2/2003 8:00pm

Walk out of applebees on 6/2/2003 8:01pm

Post it on THR on 6/3/2003 4:00pm

Fire off an Email about a stupid sign to Deangelo 6/4/2003 9:00am.

Post his smarmy reply here at THR 6/4/2003 12:09pm

6/4/2003 through 6/5/2003 Frank Deangelo is innundated with
thousands of angry but polite Emails about his stupid policy by
nearly every gun owner with a computer.

6/62003 10:30am I am notified of their change in policy.

Way to go THR!!!!

6/6/2003 10:31am Jsalcedo is innundated by 200 penis enlargement emails....

See if he'll let you buy one of the scrapped signs off of him for cheap.

You know ... like a trophy.

Someone just posted that the Waffle House chain is anti-CCW/2nd in L&P.

I know it has been posted already but I just got this same e-mail back from Mr. DeAngelo and I had to share. It makes you feel good when you helped to change something for the better.

"Thank you for your note. I have determined that my Applejam Applebee's restaurants will be consistent with our parent company's (Applebee's International) practice of not posting signs prohibiting licensed, concealed handguns. Therefore, in the Applejam of Texas' Applebee's restaurants, we will not post signs prohibiting licensed, concealed handguns.

I look forward to your continued patronage of your local Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar.

Sincerely,

Frank DeAngelo"

Just sent a thank you note to Mr. DeAngelo. Every one who got this reply should send a nice note back to reward him for doing good. Lets not be smug, just polite.

I just got the same email this morning. Good job by all involved.

I love the smell of napalm in the morning...it smells like VICTORY!!!!!

I sent my email! Goes to show the power of organized, motivated people! Let's do it again!

Just fired a note off to the Waffle House folks...

===
I'm on a low carb diet, and like to eat at Waffle House restaurants - hey,
I like your omelets. They're perfect.

But since your company has adopted a stance of not allowing people who
_legally_ carry concealed firearms on the premises, I'm no longer going to be
able to patronize your restaurants. I don't know if someone in your
corporate headquarters has equated ownership of firearms with gangsters or
something, but they need to realize that concealed carry permit holders are, by
definition, some of the most law-abiding folks in the country. We are NOT
criminals (in fact, how many of your general population of customers, or
employees for that matter, have had background checks performed on them to
ensure that they have no criminal records?), and when we're equated with such,
it is very insulting. Please keep in mind that the criminal element won't
pay any attention to your policies - it's only the permit holders whose
business you will lose.

In the past (often while travelling to practice - your Wentzville, MO
store was a favorite place to stop prior to visiting the St. Louis Benchrest
Rifle Club in Wright City - or to matches) I've often eaten there, since the
quality is consistent around the country, and I'll miss it.

Should you revise your policy, I'll resume my patronage. Thank you very
much.

Well done, gang!

I just posted this over on NJCSD.org as an example of positive change, for the poor demonized gunowners of NJ.

WE CAN, AND WE WILL TAKE BACK OUR STATE. IT IS OURS.

Looks like our emails and phone calls worked. I received the same reply from Mr.DeAngelo as the one already posted here.In my email to him the other day I mentioned how Gun Owners stick together.I guess he realized he screwed up.If we would have taken this laying down ,we would have had more of our rights chipped away. There are others just like Applebee's.We need to find out who they are and start this process of emailing them just like we did Applebee's.Good job guys. Keep up the good work.
