IIRC, we cannot import SKS and AK rifles from china. Or pistols or ammo for that matter. I think we can't bring in Russian Saigas (sporting version of the AK) either.

I know if the above is in a 3rd country for 20 years, we then can import those firearms or ammo. Are any of the above in a third country that will be available in a few or several years into the future?

Are there any firearms or large lots of ammo not noted above that will be available via 3rd countries in the future?:

Looking at the importation restrictions; I do see some nations (the usual suspects) are not allowed to export firearms to the United States, nor will the United States allow the importation. No 'third party nation' exemption is shown.

Which doesn't mean it doesn't exist, it means I cannot find it.

The only firearms that can be imported currently is those which are judged to be 'sporting' items or 'curios and relics' according to the definition. Military surplus arms - except curios and relics - are not allowed into the U. S.

To answer the question directly, I don't know of any places to obtain any 'nation prohibited' firearms legally. Just out of my curiosity, what is sought?

Likely not practical to do for single items. An importer with the appropriate license could seek ATF's approval for specific weapons in specific circumstances. I feel for you...there is a cool Norinco M-14 scaled down to carbine size in 7.62 x 39 that Canadians can get but isn't lawful to import into the U.S. that I lust after....it takes AK mags of course.

You know with H&K and FN now in the U.S.A, don't understand why they aren't offering the FAL and HK91/93 series, unless there isn't enough demand for it and still don't understand why Bush 1 ban is still in effect.

I know there are import bans Obama put in place that Trump hasn't bothered to address probably on the bottom of his to do list.
