In the market for a good, inexpensive, used, all-steel 9mm

You can get a brand new CZ later. If you want a used gun now go with the S&W 5 or 6 series from CDNN. They will be harder to find later. CZ will still be making the CZ 75B and the many variants for years to come.

I am very fond of my CZ. It has choked under 2 circumstances: crappy reloads, and limp-wristing female shooter with little upper body muscle tone. Other than that, it is reliable and accurate, and feels like it was molded from a pattern of my hands.

I like S&W a lot, and from a collection standpoint, they are a potential future purchase, but for my carry full-size 9mm, I already have it.

Add another for CZ-75B. I picked one up for $450 used. I shoot mine with 125 Gr FMJ over a near max load of PowerPistol. Runs like a champ and is deadly accurate. It shoots on par with my with Springfield 1911.

Well, thanks for all the suggestions......today I happen to stumble upon this little sweetheart and snatched her right up!

I had gone to Cabela's hoping to check out a CZ 75. They did have a new 75B in the case, which I fondled. Nice pistol, but with my stubby fingers, I had a tough time reaching the trigger for DA pull. I thanked the guy behind the counter and moved on.

I wandered in to the "gun library" and was checking out the used stuff, when I came across this used 92FS. It looked to me like it had hardly any rounds put through it. They wanted $450, I offered $400, they said $425, I said "sold". I think that was an OK deal.

Never thought I'd end up with the Beretta, but after looking around at a lot of full-size 9mm's, it ended up being the one I liked best. Just brought it home tonight so I haven't shot it yet, but I think I'm in love already!

If this is mainly going to be a range gun for you, here's another option to add to the list: a 9mm 1911. I recently purchased a 9mm 1911 by RIA and it's become one of my favorite range guns. (I also have a 75B, a Hipower and a Glock 19.) The heavy design of the 1911 really dampens the recoil of the 9mm round. And contrary to many internet reports, my 9mm has been very reliable.

Good luck in your search.

All three are nice but CZ will be my pick. It's hard to find a 3rd Gen Smith that haven't get beat to death. I personally only have seem alum cougar, but if there is an all steel cougar, I would still pick CZ over it.

BTW, my favor inexpensive all steel 9mm is my recently purchased Star 30M.

I love it more so than my CZ75 SA, Beretta 96G Vertec. And it cost me 1/3 of the price. But finding parts/mags will be a PITA.

I love how the OP thanks everyone for their advice, and shows a PICTURE of the gun he just bought, and people CONTINUE to give him suggestions.

Pay attention, folks!

I recommend the Smith & Wesson Model 5906. :D

By the way, I thought the op was insisting on an "all steel" pistol.

Yah, in another post I mentioned I should have said "all metal" instead of "steel".

No worries, though! I do appreciate everybody's input.

I love how everyone refers to aluminum frames as alloy frames, but they don't refer to steel frames as alloy frames. Steel is, by definition, an iron based alloy.

I know the OP decided, but as all of us he will typically buy another gun at some point. You might want to go back to the gun store, pick up that CZ-75B again, and after making sure it is safe, put the hammer on the half cock notch. This is the way it is designed to be carried in DA mode. Now see where your stubby little fingers are with it at half cock. Better now? Thought so.

It is also designed to be carried and shot, cocked and locked which brings the trigger all the way back in single action, and even better for you carny folk out there (you know, small hands :) ).
