Real sleeper cell members order from CTD.
Hey Now. Ouch.

Just imagine what teenagers/young adults are fed growing up these days ... they are just spewing out what's been taught to them ... sadly.

When we come across them at the range, they are perplexed why their guns don't shoot with surgical precision like in Call of Duty/Halo/Medal of Honor/Counter Strike etc. video games. Then when us "old guys" produce our "surgical precision" shot groups at targets and occasional smiley faces :D, they stop shooting and want to know how they can learn to shoot better. We become fast mentors and teach them the ways of Second Amendment and proper firearms handling/techniques.

Some of them will maintain enough interest to be guests at action pistol matches (USPSA) and are amazed what actual running and shooting at multiple and moving targets are all about - very different from video games they grew up playing.

IMHO, I think it's best that we try to be good stewards of Second Amendment to very misinformed potential next generation of firearm owners and VOTERS. I try to turn them away from the "dark side" and over to the Second Amendment side whenever I get the opportunity and invest the time with them. Most are very eager to learn and they are our future. And what happens at the next range session? They bring their friends - more converts/disciples to the Second Amendment!

I was in my local Ace, and an employee asked me if I needed help finding something.
I told him I needed a folding boxcutter and he showed me where they were, then he asked me if i needed anything else, and I said 'Duct tape'.
He said 'If you ask me where the rope and shovels are next, I'm gonna get worried!'

I thought it was hilarious!

The Walmart guy obviously thought you looked like the kind of guys that could take a joke. I'd see it as a compliment.

Personally I think it's kind of funny. An equally funny response would have been appropriate. If you really want to get upset direct your animosity towards the idiots running this country or some of your local representatives.

So just found out about a super deal of ammo (in stock) at a local Walmart.

I almost wanted to contact the store and give them crap but at the same time I know he's just a regular guy no ill intentions. At what point do you give them a backlash for being naive/anti gun or just let it go?

Let me get this straight. You found a great deal on almost unobtainable ammo, a minimum wage earner makes a comment you admit is not negative, nor directed at you and still you want to contact the store manager and complain? Here's a suggestion, next time Wal-Mart has the ammo you need at a great price, don't go. Stay home and leave it for the folks with a grasp on reality.

I probably would have said jokingly, "no, but we're going to need that key when you're done with our order, so we may make a copy at Tire and Lube Express".

Second thought, that may not be a smart thing to do.

Just say;

"The woods are lovely, dark, and deep, But I have promises to keep, And miles to go before I sleep."

Then smile.

Just in the hopes that he had seen a pretty obscure Charles Bronson movie?

I got an even dumber comment from a Cabella's employee- lifting heavy boxes of ammunition at the register "wow, whatever is this stuff, it is really heavy!"

Wow! How do you get a job at Cabelas and not know what's inside a box of ammo? It isn't like the Cabelas retail stores are in gentrified urban areas competing with Neinman Marcus. They're all in pretty sports outdoorsy places.

I had a Wal-mart employee (an obvious half-wit) request to inspect the gun that I was buying the ammunition for, I don't think he had any understanding of CCW permits and that I was actually carrying the gun in question.

I've also had a Wal-mart employee tell that I can use .380 as an alternative to 38 Special.

And then there was the Wal-mart employee who was completely flummoxed when I told him the .357 Magnum ammo I was buying was for a rifle. It didn't occur to me at the time, but you only need to be 18 to purchase rifle ammunition in Colorado.

As gun-owners, it is generally a good thing if we maintain a sense of humor and try our best not to be, or come across as, thin-skinned ...

With the mass stupidity I witness on a daily basis, a Wal-Mart employee attempting a humorous quip isn't even a blip on my radar screen and certainly not worth obsessing over ... (of course, I just spent 30 seconds participating in this thread, so, oh well ...).

And while Wal-Mart, its corporate policies, employees and yes, even the funny photos of its clientele, continues to be an easy target for our collective ire, given that most of us do buy ammo there because of the typically low prices, perhaps just occasionally, we could let some silly Wal-Mart worker foible pass un-remarked upon ...

If I had to our up with as many crazy customers in a day as Walmart gun counter guys lately I'd likely let something out similar

This is why I buy my ammo online. If you figure the gas and upkeep on your car and your time running all over the place to "maybe" find some ammo, online buying is actually cheaper. I just bought 1,000 rounds of .32 ACP for my new to me CZ 50 this week online.

You should have told him your group was a cell but not active yet, didn't have any ammo! :eek:

My decades old answer to such things is,

"That was inappropriate. I never joke about violence, and I'll thank you to never involve me in such again."

Repeat as needed. They get the point.

Wrap towel around head. Say;

"Durka durka muhammad jihad baklava, baklava! Shirpa shirpa, baklava."
