Instead of striker fired 9mm

Very true, but I like having one flush mag just because 1. the gun looks cool with it, especially the former one with the 1911-looking cherry grips, and 2. it is more compact for carry, depending if I want to do pocket, else the extended for an IWB holster.
I carry mine both ways as an extra from time to time but I'm not even sure where my flush mag is. I can't shoot it worth 2 cents with that mag anyway. It conceals pretty easily with the +1 mag still

Yep, the +1 mag definitely improves the grip. This one has the fat rubber grip with the finger grooves and makes the grip wider at the bottom as you might see the grip screws are recessed at the bottom but flush at the top. All in all, with our without the extended mag, this one seems to be more grippable, so purty rosewood grips are very nice but maybe not the best for SD.

Update:
References (from earlier in this thread):
1st P938 I bought used.
Problem I had with it.
Replacement P938 after trading it in.

I had the replacement P938 to the range today. It is a tack driver just like the one I had to return. Shot 106 rounds with only one problem, a FTF with the National Police Ammo that was jamming cases in the chamber on the first P938 as well as on my SD9 VE, in both cases requiring a dowel to knock the cases out they were jammed so bad. That did not happen on the replacement P938. Here is what I shot today:

32 rounds Cavalry Ammunition 115 grain FMJ
32 rounds National Police Ammo (NPA) monolithic 115 grain HP
27 rounds Norma 108 grain monolithic HP
15 rounds Hornady 124 grain XTP +P HP

This is in the order I shot them using all 4 magazines (2 mags on the Hornady) The FTF was the third round of the NPA. As I recall it was like the nose of that FTF bullet was sitting above the chamber, so my first thought was a case stuck in the chamber, but no cases ever stuck in the chamber on this gun, where they did on the first P938 that I returned and they did on my S&W SD9 VE.

Anyway, I am very happy with this replacement P938 and am liking the Hogue grip as it really does fit my had better than the standard grips.

A curiosity, but here are two of the cartridges I shot in the P938 yesterday. Notice the significant difference in OAL. Both ran fine in the P938 and in the SD9VE. The National Police Ammo (NPA) monolithic HP measured 28.7 mm. As a comparison, I have some FMJ (Remington) that I did not try out that measures 28.1, so these Norma and NPA are pretty long for HPs.
