So I've had quite a few items on my backorder list on Midway. Most had been there for at least 3 months if not more (mostly ammo). Some I've gotten or substitued from other places and not wanting the off chance a huge order to come through all at once I decided to cancel all of the line items except one.

It wasn't 5 minutes after I did this that I recieved an email that my order had been processed and would be delivered promptly.

It made me curious... just coincidence? or did the cancelling of a significant number of items some with significant quantities throw up a flag so the went and dug around for what was left on the order?

Has anyone done something similar and had this happen before?

probably just coincidence but next time i order if several things i want are backordered i might try it as a strategy! lol It will probably just end up with me receiving a bunch of stuff i didn't really need to buy at the time but oh well!

Anyhow atleast I finally get to try out some Hornady TAP buckshot lol

I will deal with Midway as often as possible. <lately a few orders a month lol>

I had an issue with a 30 dollar item with a missing clippy thing, instead of having me send it back, they are sending me 2 replacements, for free.

Now THAT is service.

I am sold.

I buy from Midway all of the time and only have the best things to say about their customer service. They will get my business if at all possible.

Oh i've ordered from them for years myself and have always been satisfied. I was just wondering if they were watching cancels and wanted to get the one thing left on the list out to me lol. I've had probably 7 or 8 orders from them come in since that original list of backordered items. I've been nothing but satisfied.

I just cancelled a number of backorders and sadly the remaining stuff didn't suddenly ship.

Sometimes when you order stuff online, there are two options pertaining to back orders. One is to ship the items as they become available(to get some of your stuff quicker) and the other is to hold your order until everything is available (to save on shipping cost).

You probably selected the second option and then you later removed the items that were holding up your order.

YES, I called Midway when I noticed that they did not bill me for the items that were on backorder, after I made my order. What they told me was that they wait to ship the backordered items until they are ALL in stock. as some items arrived they seperate them and hold the order until it is all received.

I assume this is so they can keep shipping cost down, rather than shipping everything individually. Also, watch to see that they will bill for all the items the day they are shipped.

Midway USA has the best customer service in the industry. Bar None. Which is why I don't mind paying a few extra to go with them. Call customer service. They will verify...

Yep, they were holding it all to ship at once. Happens all the time.

Getting hard to find a good conspiracy I tell you.....

Midway is one of the first places I look, but I only order in stock items. If I'm going to pay shipping twice, I'll place two orders.

Get a C&R license, send them a copy and the dealer discount they give you will quickly pay for the C&R fee.

Except the one item that was left still had an expected date of November something, the rest of the items listed dates in December. Had it said that item was in stock I would have assumed they were holding the order for the rest.
