Yesterday I was at the local whole foods COOP after leaving the local fair. My GF was in the store buying some stuff and when she came back to the Jeep she was chuckling to herself. I asked what was so funny, had I forgotten to button up or what? She said a rather hippiesh 20 something girl was coming across the parking lot and came to an abrupt stop 10 paces behind my Jeep, made like she was pulling out a pistol and shot at the back of my vehicle with her finger.:what: I have a NRA sticker on it and a bumper sticker that states " I will not trust a Government that will not trust me with a firearm".:D BTW my GF did stop me from going in and saying "poor shot" to the girl. The girls action seems a little ironic to me. Laugh for the day!:D

About as interesting as a guy who loudly proclaimed in public, "Anyone who is pro-gun should be shot." I asked if he intended on using a slingshot.

Oh sweet irony, this is the level of intelegence that are dealing with. That is about as good as the ASPCA member I heard say that he would rather see someone killed in an car accident caused by a deer in the road than allow hunters to shoot them.

This is this! It's not something else, it's this

Don't pull it if you don't plan to use it, and don't use it if you don't plan to kill!

ALWAYS REMEMBER OUR MEN AND WOMEN OVER THERE.

Maybe she was just fooling around and being silly. It doesn't sound like what she did was anti-gun in nature. Some folks just have a unique sense of humor that other people just don't get.

I also know some hippiesh looking people that own and shoot guns, so don't judge a book by its cover.

DMK you may be correct. However the reason I stayed in the Jeep is that about a year ago during hunting season someone got caught ripping the antenna and wipers off a pickup in the parking lot. The reason he gave in court was he saw a 30-30 in the rear window of the truck, so it was OK. There are a lot of back to nature extreme individuals in the area. Around here we refer to them as "crispies" and to try to just get along with everyone.:)

FROGO.... it is a part of the new Maine. I am old enough to remember the days of riding my bicycle with my single shot 12g from Portland to Falmouth on Sunday mornings to trap shoot when I was a kid. But now, with kids of my own and exposure to other parents I know that guns are now feared as tools of death by many.

I posted a picture of me, at the range... safety gear on having a great day and I was called "Paraniod" and "A fanatic" by two different people.

I asked if they enjoyed thier 1st amendment right to say that? They of course answered yes... my response was I was just enjoying my 2nd amendment rights.

I'll go one better. In the mid 1970's I would walk to Bangor high school with my .22 target rifle over my shoulder, leave it in my locker for the day and use it to practice in the ROTC rifle range after school about 3 days a week. Several of my friends would leave their 30-30's in the principals office for the day so that after school they could go hunting down the road in hunting season. Like to see someone try this now!!

In my experience it doesn't really take all kinds. It just turns out that there are all kinds.

(Apologies to the THR member I've blatantly stolen that from.)

Kinda like Spike Lee saying Charleton Heston should have been shot in the face with a Bulldog 44? Violent types, these antis, full of death and hatred, good thing they are unarmed.

Part of the reason anti-gun types are opposed to gun ownership may be that they know or suspect that the main difference between them and criminals is that criminals have guns.

In which case, they idiotically want law-abiding citizens to be disarmed, only to leave them even more susceptible to being mugged, shot, or murdered by a criminal - since gun-owning citizens didn't stop the threat first.

Oh, she doesn't bother me.

The girl was having harmless fun. Bravo.
I, too, strive to maintain a sense of humor every day.

And expressing her feelings harmlessly is also protected by the Constitution.
To be on the strongest ground to protect our 2nd Amendment rights, we have to be willing uphold all the others, too.

Four years ago I came across a hippiesh girl 25 years younger than me, very anti-gun, a civil rights advocate, and very artistic. I told her about my interest in guns, responsibility, and civil rights. She is now completely changed, and includes statements about civil rights and self protection in her artwork. Rather than bash these young girls (or anyone else), convert them gently and effectively.

As far as the "he had a 30-30 in his back window " Quote

I am going to have to agree !! I am pretty anti 30-30 myself :neener:

However I wouldnt have vandalized his truck . I would have waited for him to come outside and verbally scolded him for his poor choice and lack of understanding Balistic coeffecients :p

I like to call 'em "Frybabies". Just tell 'em to slowly back away from the bong...

Could be the chick liked your stickers and was havin' fun. You never know.

Just because we have all kinds doesn't mean it takes all kinds.

Hmm... this sounds familiar.

Frogo.... yeah, I dont think bringing your hunting rifle to school would fly today at all... although, in my area guns are still seen on school property in gun racks during deer season. It is still accepted by the school and district. But, clearly not in the school.

Unfortunately, half of Boston moved up to Portland and the environs and brought their liberal idiocy to Maine.

I avoid places like Whole Foods because you're just going to get bombarded with liberal, hippie, anti gun, anti freedom crap. I feel like I'm in occupied, communist territory when I'm in there. Plus its too darn expensive!

Sometimes I feel like I'm surrounded by hippies.

My Peace Through Superior Firepower shirt has got a few comments while at the local stop and rob, lol.

was she hot? Maybe she didn't see you GF and was hittin' on you.:what:

BTW...there ain't no such thing as a 20 year old hippie anymore.

Was she hot?
Could be, she looked like she had not combed her hair in a week and was wearing an old dress? that had seen lots better days. When we left I noticed her car was an old Saab, it looked about 25 years old and was a rustbucket painted about 4 different colors. I might be strange but would not be able to live that way. The only way some girl that young pays attention to me is from the street corner these days I am afraid.:D

Be easy on the 30-30's I even own one or two myself.:neener: Better than using a rock at least!
