James Carville: Democrats have a "disease."

The name of the disease is terminal stupidity.

Until some Democrats start writing me checks out of their own salaries to reimburse me for the $9000 they bilked me out of via the AWB of 1994 and the MG ban in 1986 they can kiss off. They made it personal.

Maybe Carville is referring to the so called "democratic plan" which will be introduced in early 2006, according to Chuckie Schumer. This plan is not to offer anything new. but rather to "change" the public perception of the democratic party by saying things that aren't necessarily what the party stands for, in an attempt to regain power, as previous posters here have rightly surmised.

Well, we all know what the people who deliver those types of messages are routinely labled; Snake Oil Salesmen. And what a coincidence that Carvilles own wife labled him "Old Serpent Head". Who better than a man with a snake head to deliver the message of a snake oil flim flam man? Can these people get any further from the mainstream path without falling over a cliff? Yes they can! Why? Because theres a bunch of sheep between them and the cliff, keeping the democratic party leaders from getting too close to the cliff. The democratic leadership will convince those sheep to jump off of the cliff first, while never getting that close to the edge themselves. That's a part and parcel of the snake oil message. "You sheep go over there by that cliff. We'll be right here making sure that no Republicans or Conservatives have the power to push you off of that cliff, so long as you do exactly as we tells ya, and you votes for us for political office. 'Cause it's only us that cares about ya".

To late Jimmie, the kook left have taken control of your party and their not about to let you tell them what to do anymore.

There are still such things as pro-gun Democrats, you know. I haven't given up all hope for reforming the party, and I'm all for the old hacks like Carville admitting they were wrong to push for gun control.

Doesn't mean I'm going to vote for Carville's next biscuit boy, but the more we can remove gun control from the national debate the better. My goal is a return to the days when people just scratched their heads at a mention of federal gun control.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I'll say that Al Gore still wakes up in the wee hours of the morning, telling himself, "If I hadn't supported gun control, I'd be President of the United States right now.":)

If John Kerry wasn't a gungrabber he might have gotten half of the 4 million votes held by NRA members.

Incidentally Kerry lost the popular vote by approx 4 million. He said he didn't want to be the NRA's president, and we made sure he wouldn't be anyone's president.

If John Kerry had done three things, he'd be president today.

First of all, he should have completed a full tour in Viet Nam, and not pulled strings to get out early.

Second, when he got home, he should have done something to help his fellow veterans, instead of blackguarding and smearing them.

And third, he should have stood up for our civil rights under the Second Amendment.

Yeah, but if he had done all that, he wouldn't have been John Kerry, would he?

Nor would he be a Democrat!

I don't know about that. The fellow who brought Vermont carry to Alaska is a liberal Democrat. He's been hitting me up for money in fact, but I'm broke.
