Just bought a mag for a Sig P238, which I don't have yet. I WILL BE BUYING THE GUN, HOWEVER!!! The mags are hard to find in stock at my LGS, etc, so I picked it up. Have you ever done this? Not a habit of mine, but it just seemed right. Curious to know if anyone else has.

During the panic of 2013, I almost bought a few Ruger 10/22 25rd mags. I didn't go through with it though.

I grabbed two Beretta 92 magazines and two Glock 23 magazines, since those are guns I am 100% sure I'll be adding to my collection and I didn't want to be stuck with 10-rounders.

I did not pay panic prices. With patience and MidwayUSA's integrity, I got the factory Beretta 92 15-round magazines for $19.99 each and the factory Glock 23 13-round magazines for $24.99 each.

Yep mags, grips, ammo and reloading components have all been bought in advanceof a gun purchases

I have 5 mags in the safe waiting for the firearm that'll use them. should be picking it up monday. :D

Magazines? No. Ammo? Yes.

If I am jonesing for a particular gun, however, that will have an imminent magazine ban, however (CO) I may. Thinking about grabbing two PS90 mags for when I "can't have" 50's.

Yes, as others have noted, I have bought items for a gun I knew I would be acquiring. Magazines, reloading components, dies, ammo...

Each time, I eventually found the gun.

I have a few mags and other accessories for weapons I don't have yet. I have a few boxes of AR PMAGS that I have had for several years. In addition to some vertical grips, slings, laser sights etc.

I have, by both accident and design.

Traded the accidental ones, until I picked up a BAR mag with some M-14 mags.

Used to be, back when I had a job and money, one of the things I'd shop for at gun shows was odd-ball mags. If the price was right, I'd pick up a couple, or some such. Which would go into my for-the-gun how "possibles" bag. Can be handy to have found a deal on Sterling mags to "sweeten" a deal on 1928 Tommy stick mags.

Never found a deal on an L mag to stick in the drum carrier bag I have. My three-cell & 5-cell tommy mag pouches are good to go; as in the '43 dated BAR belt I have. I need to find another 5-cell bag for my M-3 mags (except that having them in a universal pouch is equally accurate).

So, in my perfect world, I'd need a BAR, an M-1928, an M1A1, and an M3--and seeing as how I want to get back to having a Garand and an M1A . . .

Ammo, yes. This began in March '09 right when the 'bug bit' deep for the first Enfield, when only one distributor still had cheap surplus .303 ("England '43").
That became the policy, to first buy the ammo, then the gun, followed by 'extra ammo'. This really paid off last winter!

I have....when I see them on clearance or reduced enough. I have many that I hope to someday have the firearms they go with. Or, I wait till someone is looking for one and sell it.

I bought 10 glock 19 mags knowing that I will buy a couple when I can find them at a good price.

Sometimes things just work out.

I purchased a box of 24 HK91 mags for next to nothing even though I didn't have one. One day my neighbor was having family over and invited us over to have a few pops. We got to talking with the neighbors brother about guns, an we determined that he had a hk91 and he also had a bunch of FAL mags for a gun he used to have. We now both have alot more mags for guns we own.:)

Never hurts to take a chance....

Brought? NO

Kept? YES

I have some hi-cap mags for a gun that I should along time ago and no intention of getting another one. I sold a few mags off in the past but with the way the political and ecomonic situation is I have decided they may turn out to be worth more than money.
