Looking at a steel frame Kahr MK9 Elite.....anyone have any "hands on" experiences with these? Are that light enough and small enough for pocket carry? Thanks
Some people say they're too heavy, but I carry an MK40 in my pocket a lot of the time that I'm out of the house. You do need a belt, can't just throw it in a sweatpants pocket and go, but the weight isn't all that bad.
You can expect the empty weight to be a hair more than a Glock 19.
Had one for about 5 years, liked it, never tried to pocket carry it. My perception was it was heavy for it’s small size. I have switched to the Kahr P9 for 2 reasons. My thinking on this class of gun is it will be carried a lot and shot a little, 300 to 1,000 rounds a year, so poly would give me 10 to 30 years. The reduced weight also eliminates an excuse not to take it with.
Before I ramble too much let me give my opinion on your questions. Small enough? Yes. Light enough. Maybe, only you can answer that, after you’ve tried it and I would recommend you try it.
One more unsolicited opinion, it shot very well, accurate and manageable.
