I just purchased a Kel-Tec P11 9mm yesterday, to use as a deep concealment gun. Does anyone have experience with these? I got a deal on it at $250 new in box. Its not a pretty gun, but as long as its reliable, I figure it will be a good pocket/beater gun.:D

!!

I'd rather you beat up my mom than call the p11 ugly!! Them's fightin' words!

I haven't put many rds through mine yet, well.. really any rds.. range membership has yet to come 'round to fruition :scrutiny: but I wanted to crosspost something and figured you'd be interested in the tip, courtesy of the nice folks at KTOG.org:

That's right, Kel-Tec is now selling their own 12 rd HiCaps.

Totally worth your time to join up on KTOG.org too.

Hate to burst y'all's bubble, but I traded off my P-11 after it was replaced by Kel-Tec with a new one with my old SN#. The reason they replaced it was that it physically b-r-o-k-e three times while I was shooting. All three were show-stoppers, too. This, with less than 500 rds through the gun. :uhoh:

The new one would have probably been fine, but I just couldn't bring myself to trust it not to fail two rounds into a three-round gunfight. By that time, I had bought my Taurus PT-145 Millennium Pro, which gave me 11 rds of .45 ACP in a package only slightly larger than the P-11, and has a better trigger pull and lighter felt recoil.

A P-32 is my "always" gun, but I just don't trust their P-11 model any more. YMMV.

I have one, and I rather like it. It's my jogging gun. It's accurate enough for its size, very easy to conceal, and mine has been reliable like an anvil. I agree that it's ugly as homemade soap, but it's fine for the price. The finish leaves a bit to be desired in the "refinement" category, and the lines aren't exactly what one might call "classic," but it does send hollowpoints downrange in a way that is difficult to dispute. I usually carry w/o a holster using the belt clip, or tucked away in a fanny pack when I'm out running. If you visit ktog.org, you'll find a fellow who will hard chrome the slide for $25, which I'm very seriously thinking of doing so that I'll feel better about the finish in the aforementioned holsterless condition.

I think I've spent right around $300 on mine for the gun, magazines, belt clip, and trigger shoe. If anybody finds another pistol that performs this well for the price, I'm willing to listen, but I'd be mighty surprised.

Kel-Tec 9mm

I've had my P11 for years and have shot well over a thousand rounds thru it.Mine just plain works all the time and I've fired one heck of a lot of new and reloaded ammo thru it.I've heard some folks have had problems with theirs, but I've also heard Kel-Tec is very good about fixing or replacing any of their products.I could certainly understand losing faith in a carry pistol that had been sent back twice,I might keep it for plinking but not for carry.Oh heck no ! It does have a heavy trigger, but you can get used to that. And it is very concealable, much better than darn near any other 9mm pistol.Try out one at a range or maybe one of your friends have one, you'll have to ask them,it's not likely you would notice it concealed on them...........

My P11 is a perfect sub-compact carry gun. It fits a need depending on the weather as a primary or secondary gun for my needs.

Recommend to only get real Kel-tec mags or real Smith mags not knockoff mags because they have the quality and proper springs to meet the little guns specs.

I use Smith 69xx SS mags with of course matches my main carry gun my 6946 so you can have one type of mag to carry for two guns.

Mine has been 100% reliable. The trigger is a bit heavy at first (I am a Glock guy) but once you get used to it, no problem. Considering your username, you need to pick up a .40S&W conversion kit to go with it.

Kel-Tec

Have had a P11 for 5 or 6 years now and run several thousand rounds through it, mostlyy relaods. It will fire a a few hundred shells in an afternoon with no misfires on most days. Never jammed ever with factory loads. This is my carry gun on hot summer days.

like my P-11. I pack CCI Shot for the first two and WWB JFP for the rest.

Great lil snake shooter. Get up close though. Fun Plinker. I too, pack the P32 as a daily. But have recently tried the 9mm. Not too bad, really.:)
