This may come as a shock to some!

A few years ago when I frequented Even Marshall's message board He posted that he personally carried a P-3AT as a backup.

Yes, this is the Evan Marshall that has authored a number of books about stopping power and One shot stops.

I took a screenshot of his post

I've had a P-11 for over 10 years. never had any functional problems. Once in a while I get a stove piped round, maybe every houndred rounds or so.

i trust it to fucntion every time I need it to.

Some people want a perfect gun. A gun that never, ever fails. Guess what? Such a gun doesn't exist. And if it did, you wouldn't be able to guarantee every single round of ammo that you're going to put in it.

A gun is a tool. it can't save your life. Only you can save your life. Even a hammer sometimes misses the nail. A $10,000 pistol and $10 per round of self defense ammo can still malfunction. Matter of fact, the question ISN'T, CAN a particular pistol malfunction when shooting it. The truth is, ALL GUNS WILL MALFUNCTION sooner or later. It's just a matter of when. If you train properly, then it doesn't matter what the gun is; if it's revolver or semi; or how many rounds it carries. You will hit your target and clear and problems without thinking. If you don't practice enough, then it doesn't matter what gun you have; you're probably not going to be very effective with it.
