Hi folks,
A group of good old boys came to the range at about the same time as a friend and I. I spilled a brick of .22 ammo on the bench, and a 14 year old kid who was with the older men helped me pick them up. He wasn't really shooting any of his group's guns, so I offered to let him shoot my .22 Savage 64 with a small scope.
He said he hadn't really shot many guns, so I sat there and taught him how to shoot mine, and we went through a magazine shooting at a metal spinny target about 25 yards away. The older men were pleased when the kid really liked my gun and told them he wanted one of his own.
As his group were leaving, one of the men gave me a really nice scope - an extra, he said, that he had carried around for a while. It's much nicer than mine. I guess it was a thank-you gift for doing that for his kid.
