Tandemkross is a company that specializes in aftermarket firearms accessories. This is their V2 of the Sub2000 metal replacement sight.

They have tried to make this to allow a small amount of windage adjustment. Unfortunately, the small 3/32" setscrew does not get enough bite into the aluminum sight lever rod to be stable.

Looking for any suggestions for improvement / modification ideas?

Keep in mind that the sight lays flat when the stock is folded over :scrutiny:

Linear Compensator

Finally got around to removing the thread protector on the Sub2000.
Comes off after a little heat from a small propane torch using a 5/8" socket.

Replaced the thread protector nut with a knurled protector @ ½" X 28 ;)
Just waiting for the linear compensator from Kaw Valley Precision to arrive in the mail.

Range report results to follow. :)

I had a Gen 1 back in `02 and had to sell it because I needed the money. I really like the Gen 2's and might have to have one. Might have to wait for the version that's compatible with Beretta 92 mags.

I had a Gen 1 .... Might have to wait for the version that's compatible with Beretta 92 mags.

Lots of folks waiting for the "other than Glock" versions. I hear they're coming, but I don't know when.
I'm impressed with the Gen 2 so far. Check it out ~ you might like it ;)

Sub 2000 Gen 2 @ CDNN???

Lots of folks waiting for the "other than Glock" versions. ....

I don't know if this is accurate, but it was a recent post from another board.

"I called them and they put me on a call list. Thought it was BS but a couple weeks ago my phone rang. To my surprise it was my turn to pick up a 2nd gen 9mm for $399. Very pleasant transaction. Ken was the fella that took care of me. If you call there tell him Stu sent ya. Good luck on your purchase."

Too :fire: to shoot

But with the overnight thunderstorm that blew through, the heat went with it. ;)

Got to the range today to dial-in the red-dot & test the KVP compensator.

Seems like the subbie likes BE-86 from 25-yards unsupported.
Report down-range was pleasant ~ no ear muffs, just soft-plugs.
Nice to see the group moving towards the bulls-eye.
(Good to see my miss high-right instead of the usual low-left)

Tandemkross sight

... their V2 of the Sub2000 metal replacement sight...:scrutiny:

I've tried several ways to get this sight to work properly and failed.
My recommendation is to stay away from this after-market addition & use a reamer or drill bit to slightly enlarge the zytel stock peep sight for a better sight picture & visibility.

...the new Berry's HHP as one test projectile ~ looking forward to testing it myself. :)

While I'm waiting for Berry's to start selling the new 9mm HHP, I started a work-up with the .356 125gr JHP's from Zero.
Testing began with my G-19 @ 7 yards unsupported. This +P load range utilized the expanded published data from the Western Powders website.
5.4gr of Silhouette seemed to be an acceptable :fire: charge; will test soon in the Gen 2 S2K.

Thankfully, a late-day heavy rainstorm knocked-down the oppressive heat ;)

Slogged over to the range this evening to try the :fire: +P's

THR_S2Ktest.jpg (click on image to expand) 20 yards from rest>

As the carbine was canted to use the offset-mounted red-dot, the brass was ejected about 7-8' to starboard.
Plenty of punch from this load ~ the Gen 2 S2K likes them & so do I

I've oft thought of a Sub2k to carry in the car on road trips.

Same mags as my G19 Gen 4, but with greater accuracy and stopping power.

I called CDNN Sports today and the CSR said they have a waiting list for the GEN 2 Sub2000.
Price is $399.99 & they will call you when it's available. It's a lot cheaper than the scalpers on GB :)

"Happy Stick" mag dump

....It would have been better to have used the new Berry's HHP as one test projectile ~ looking forward to testing it myself. :)

While waiting for the HHP's to become available, I broke-out some Xtreme 165gr 9mm loads left from a previous test with another carbine.

S2Kmagdump.jpg (click on image to expand)

This load grouped well low-to-starboard with 33 rounds ~ rapid fire
No function issues with the Gen 2 Sub2000 using this ammo

...Any Idea what the velocity on those 165 grain bullets out of the KT Carbine were?...

I don't have a chrono kBob, so I can't say for sure.
Other postings have this round @ approx. 920 fps, but don't hold me to that.
I've also ran them thru my G19 & Hi-Point 995 TS with good results.
I likum' heavy boolits

YMMV :)
