I bought a laminated thumbhole stock from Boyd's to upgrade my Marlin XS7 .308. I got it in 3 business days, the finish is gorgeous, and the fit is perfect. I didn't have to touch the insides, the rifle action dropped right in and fit tight. I can slip a piece of typing paper between the barrel and fore end, all the way to the front of the receiver. I added a LimbSaver recoil pad. Length of pull was their standard, it was an inch longer than the original plastic stock. That suits me fine, the rifle fits better now, and my cheek weld is perfect height for my scope. The thumbhole grip feels great. The color is called 'nutmeg', looks like natural color. The fore end has two sling swivel lugs, the bipod is mounted in the front one; the fore end is also ventilated so the barrel can better dissipate heat.
The rifle weighs 8-1/2 pounds, including the bipod and scope.
