Savage Axis Boyd's Stock

I guess I've been lucky - twice. Both stocks I've gotten from Boyd's (one for an Axis in .223; the other for a MK II with a bull barrel) fit with the original screws (save for the extra screws that came with the trigger guard and mag plate I bought from Boyd's for the MKII), fit perfectly the first time, and one can slide a dollar bill around the barrel from the end of the stock back to where the barrel attaches to the receiver with little or no discernible drag so the barrel float is pretty good.

They're pretty too, or as we say in our family when something turns out nicely done... " That's fancy". .

Quick update: With some help from Mohave-Tec, I put a washer under the trigger guard and now the Timney works great. Just need to finish free floating the barrel and will be done. I will say, the stock looks pretty.
