I guess I've been lucky - twice. Both stocks I've gotten from Boyd's (one for an Axis in .223; the other for a MK II with a bull barrel) fit with the original screws (save for the extra screws that came with the trigger guard and mag plate I bought from Boyd's for the MKII), fit perfectly the first time, and one can slide a dollar bill around the barrel from the end of the stock back to where the barrel attaches to the receiver with little or no discernible drag so the barrel float is pretty good.
