So, watching a rerun of a 2008 airing of Modern Marvels about lead... One of their commercial break facts was "U.S bullet manufacturers use up to 600 tons of lead per day."


I wonder where that usage level is at current production and where is it all going!? Surely not on the shelves of my local ammo suppliers...

Yeah well, I don't know about "plenty" unless you mean plenty expensive.

Just for kicks, assuming an average of 100 grains per bullet, and 80 million gun owners, it comes to 84 million bullets a day, or 30.66 billion bullets a year, or 383 bullets per gun owner.
