Im lookng for a left handed .308 bolt action. I really don't have a brand that I'm looking for I just hopping to fine one around 400 or so. If anyone can help thanks.

You will end up paying more, as left hand rifles are few in number and highly desired by the greater number of lefties. Figure $500-$600 for a slightly used or new one, and look for Ruger M77, Savage 100 series (quite a few model numbers, I believe), and Remington 700. There are a few Remington M788's, but they still eject to the right...LH bolt handle only). Winchester also made a few M70's, but they are $800-$1000, as they were higher to begin with, now out of production, and commanding big prices.

Savage makes a variety of them, and that is the route that my brother took when he wanted a lefty .308. It was under $500.00, but, IIRC, more than $400.00.

I have a Remington 788 lefty bolt in .308 that I bought used years ago. It's a shooter and as the depressed man said above, it ejects out the right side. Nice gun and they do pop up occasionally on this classified board and/or gunbroker.

The others mentions above are the only ones I'm familiar with. I do kind of have my eye on maybe a Remington 700 SPS youth, (or compact). They make a lefty version, but not in .308; only .243 and 7mm-08. I am short of stature, so the smaller LOP of that model appeals to me.

If you're not dead set on a bolt action, there are other options that will be lefty friendly, like pump (Remington 7600), auto loaders, lever actions, and break action/single shot. Most of those will probably be more than $400 new except maybe the H&R/NEF Handi Rifle or a Marlin 336 (which is not avaialble in .308 win).

After years of searching, I've had some luck with lefty bolt guns, but mostly in .30-06. If you'd consider that round, I think you might have better luck.

.308 is one of the most common rifle chamberings in the U.S. and finding a left handed version is fairly simple.

Savage makes the 10 and 11 package guns in left hand chambered in .308 (among others) and those will be your best bets for affordability in a new rifle. They actually sell for less than essentially the same rifle without the scope, base and rings. Even if you toss the scope and rings, you come out ahead.

If you care to spend more money, there are the Models 14 and 16 from Savage, several models from Remington, the M77 from Ruger and for a good bit more the M70 Winchester and Browning A-bolt. IIRC, Tikka makes a very affordable left-handed rifle as well. All of those are current production rifles.

savage is your best bet, but for your price range you're going used, and to find a used lefty you're going to have to be open to trying a different caliber.

cdnn has some ruger hawkeye's in left hand for 550. 22-250 and 25-06 among others. no 308.

if you're willing to open of your price some I really like the tikka t3's.
