Well actually I don't "carry", I transport my R9 unloaded in a 5.11 Select Carry Pistol Pouch until the Illinois State Police start issuing CC licenses next year :(

EDC Semi-auto- Kahr PM-9

EDC Revolver- S&W Model 638

EDC Deep concealment- Kel-Tec P3AT.

That's a classy looking GP. Did you bob the hammer yourself?
Thanks, Tony.

No I didn't bob the hammer myself. From what I understand, my GP-100 was a contract over-run. It was originally intended for the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. They specified that their revolver have a 4" half-lug barrel with fixed sights and a factory DAO trigger.

Kahr PM9... 9mm with +P GoldDots

I carry with a "ClipDraw" and a Vanguard triggerguard holster ( both at the same time) with chamber loaded.

I've got a box of holsters ( both leather and kydex, pretty and ugly) and I always return to this combo. Comfortable, safe and secure ( for me ! )....mike

I'm apparently very under-armed. I pocket carry a S&W mod. 38 loaded with Rem Golden Saber in an Blackhawk holster and five rounds in a speed strip. I have a Gerber Paraframe in the other pocket, but I may upgrade the knife.

Armoredman - how do you carry your CZ SP01? What holster? I've got one for USPSA but it's way too heavy to consider carrying on the daily compared to a Glock 19 or the similar.
Yeah, I just got a CZ 75 compact in 9mm, and while it is smaller, it won't be as light and comfortable to carry as my Ruger sr9c.

Oh, and today's carry on the trail was a Taurus PT 145 in a Kirkpatrick with a spare mag in my left front pocket. No knife, as I've misplaced my beloved Buck...everything else I have is too big for legal. At times I carry my little free chinese NRA premium as a substitute.

Over the summer my edc was an old Smith model 37 in an oversized Blackwawk IWB.

I don't think so. See above. :)

(Oh, and too bad about Minnesota :( )

Time and time again, I've tried and switched out different pistols, and time and time again, I've returned to the same gun for carry: Gen 2 Glock 19, bought brand new in 1994, with Ranger or HST in the mag and new Trijicon HD sights. Carry it in a well-weathered and beyond comfortable Kramer horsehide paddle holster which was made by Greg back in the day when he ran his shop nearby, along with a single mag pouch.

I've wanted to try and fall in love with Kydex, so I recently bought a double mag pouch to try. So far, it's comfortable, but the jury is still out for me as to whether or not I want to try a Kydex holster. If and when I do, I'll have my friend who owns Northwest Tactical Products make a holster and mag pouch combo for me. I appreciate and support local craftsmen of the trade.

I also carry a Streamlight PT 1L flashlight and a Kershaw Blur daily. I have bigger, stronger lights, but for EDC, the Streamlight fits my needs well.

XDs just came back from recall and I need to put it through it's paces again before I decide to carry it. I bought it originally as a summer carry pistol and it carries and conceals well, but I have to figure out if it's better than the 642 which has been great for years. When I carry that, it's in a Mika Pocket Holster and yep, that holster is worth every penny and the praise it's given on this and other boards.

I always like reading these threads, even if they're a repeat every now and then. It's fun to hear about one's carry evolve over time and experience.

Ammo: 124 gr. Remington golden sabers JHP

Multi-tool: Leatherman Wingman
Flashlight: Streamlight P1AA

Since this is a picture heavy thread, here is all the junk I keep in my pockets.

And that's a lot of junk. :)
If I am on the way to work or back, throw in gas and handcuffs, but I don't regularly carry those off duty - especially that Sabre Red OC, useless "seasoning in a can".

First, it's not a regular CZ Sp-01, that is the semi-mythical CZ SP-01 Phantom. It is approx 33% lighter than the steel framed SP-01. ;)
I carry it is this rig,

PhantomandDownUnderbrightlight2.jpg

High Noon Down Under IWB rig with straps. I use a High Noon Rock Steady gun belt, (shown with the junky old dress belt I used to use),

Used together, this big sidearm disappears under a t-shirt, even in AZ summer weather. Note the 16 round standard CZ-75 mag used for summer carry.

Over the years I've made one observation. Whether we are talking concealed carry or babies, folks carry a lot more "stuff" today than they did in years past.

Think about what you see in the mega strollers today, sheesh, if my wife had wanted to carry all that stuff I'd have just had her move the kids around in a large wheel barrow.

Same with CCW. Once upon a time, a firearm, a couple (though often only one) reloads, and maybe just maybe a small pen knife.

Today, it's multiple firearms, multiple reloads for each, knives, flashlights, cell phones and the list just goes on and on.

PM9 Liberty 50 grain mag in gun for weight, Remora pocket holster. 2 spare mags in a nylon double pouch that slides on. fanny pak with an XDS, "now either a 30 or 26 in it with +2.
Looking for a RI till I get my XD back, if I can find the non billboard "new one", or an ATI compact, lightweight.
Also one of 3 assisted open pocket knives and a Tac light. All in the PAK

Sig P229R Enhanced Elite 357 Sig- Defensive Line IWB holster. 125 gr Doubletap ammo. Spare mag in Bianchi clip on mag holder. Cold Steel Tanto folder. All day every day.

Thin wallet, thin cellphone, small keyring, Glock 19 with Trijicon Big Dot sights loaded with Critical Duty in an Old Faithful IWB (when out of NJ, of course), and that's pretty much it.

I hate having crap in my pockets. I keep a light and knife in my car should they be necessary. IMO "High speed low drag" is best achieved when you've got nothing to weigh you down.

Armoredman - thanks for the in depth explanation. I've got a SP-01 Tactical. Still too heavy for reasonable/regular EDC, although I really do love that gun.

In Winter,
Handguns: Glock 30SF, S&W 642.
Holsters: Bianchi model 5 Blackwidow OWB, Blackhawk #3 pocket.
Ammo: .45ACP 230gr HST, .38SPL 135gr+p Gold dot.
Reloads: 2 Glock 13rd mags in Bladetech double mag pouch, 1 or 2 Bianchi speed strips front pocket.
Knives: CRKT m16-13Z, SpiderCo. Native, Gerber multi-tool.
Light: Streamlight ProTac HL with belt clip.
And my wallet, keys and dumb phone.
Summer, everything the same, but replace 30 with Glock 19 in a Sidearmor IWB, .45 mags with 2 17rd mags in double mag pouch, ammo is 124gr+p Gold dot.
Always one in the pipe.
Reason for the 30 in the Winter is in case JHPs don't open up, also don't want to miss a chance on a deer!
