A screaming liberal friend of my wife, Julie, told Julie that if Bush wins her husband is going to buy a gun. ??????? Damned if I can figure that out unless he is talking assassination in which I will be in contact with the Secret Service. Liberals do tend to be violent --you know, this thing they have about wanting government to usurpe individual responsibility.

Seems like it would be more likely to want to buy a gun before Kerry wins as he is likely to follow Clinton's footsteps and ban guns.

What? You say Kerry is an avid hunter and would protect shooters' rights? Hmm. Probably would ban all but goose guns and, of course, if you don't hunt geese then you don't need even that gun.

Maybe he is expecting all of his fine, upstanding liberal friends to put on a riot and he wants to protect his property from being damaged by their "revolution".

Which will be short. After reading some history books, I can confidently state that the several hundred members of this board alone have more weapons and ammunition, of better quality, of every type including FA, than all the Jews in Israel in 1947.

Most likely a fear of the loss of more civil liberties or the draft. Pretty normal human response. When what is most cherished, either perceived or real, is lost, the flight or flee response comes to the forefront.

Normal response perhaps but utterly illogical.

If Bush and the Republicans win, there is zero evidence of any further gun restrictions on tap. Heck, only if you buy the most paranoid Patriot Act expansion fears could you even consider a loss of gun rights REMOTELY possible.

Conversely, If Kerry wins and the Dems take the Leg and he can stock the courts, it is a bedrock certainty from the Dem leadership's own mouths that more gun restrictions are forthcoming.

Now, this particular reality check doesn't reflect a loss of civil rights in general, nor a draft, but if he's worried to the point he feels the need to get a gun to defend against a Bush-led assault on civil rights or shoot it out with press gangs, there will be plenty of time AFTER the election.

I don't mind "fears" so much, but patently STUPID fears annoy me.

Well, maybe it will make them rethink their anti-gun position. If they are in fact anti's, cause being a screaming liberal isn't the same thing.

Presently working w/ a group of hard core Democrats (they even have a photo or three of themselves w/ BJ Clinton in their conference room) and I've tried (Lord knows I've tried) to understand the mindset.

The illegal war in Iraq... If Bush will invade Iraq, he'll invade America.

Loss of Jobs during the past four years... They HARP on this.

Loss of freedoms and Civil Rights in the past four years, ala The Patriot Act... more HARPing.

Lack of Border Control w/ resultant influx of illegals in our midst (I'd have thought this was a good thing since they all register Democrat but whaddaIknow?)

Gov't getting bigger and more intrusive (Dept of Homeland Defense)

Going from a projected surplus to another huge deficit.

They are down on the UN, tho.

I guess it might all add up to that Civil War I've been reading about on the internet here and there... but I have my doubts.

Interestingly enough, everyone is a gun-owner and a shooter, hunter, etc., they're just on the other side of the fence on the voting issue and evil Assault Weapons.

"Why do you feel you NEED that AK-47 and AK15(???) Baba?" This from someone who owns an SKS and several Elk hunting type scoped bolt action .300 Win Mag rifles and semi auto 12 ga. goose hunting shotguns.

So I say, "If Bush wins, we should all go out and buy (another) gun." If Kerry wins, buy several and scads of ammo and reloading components.

I've seen some posts by crazy leftists on the Democrat forums that advocate getting assault weapons to destroy the evil republican running dogs of capitalist imperialism. This is the first time I've ever seen the powder-puff left (excluding the SLA and such) advocating armed rebellion.

It kind of ties in with their instant analysis of recent events. One belief is that the evil republican campaign manager talked Osama Ben Laden into making that tape and releasing it to hurt the Democrats.(even Uncle Wally Krankheit is parroting that one.) Osama is supposedly vacationing at the Bush family compound in Saudi Arabia.

They are also saying that republicans own the voting machines in florida and are planning to steal the election that way.

Talk about a short war. They couldnt stand against even the rest of the armed citizens who actually learned how to shoot. These guys honestly think that the AKs in the gunshop are "designed to spray bullets from the hip". I think it would be worth the chaos just to see it.

Did you see this on DrudgeReport? A teacher kicked a student for displaying a Bush shirt:

http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=sto..._on_el_ge/politics_student_kicked_1&printer=1

Fort Lewis College student Mark O'Donnell said he was showing people his College Republicans sweat shirt, which said "Work for us now ... or work for us later," when Maria Spero kicked him in the leg at an off-campus restaurant.

Spero then said "she should have kicked me harder and higher," said O'Donnell. "To physically take that out on someone because you disagree with them, that is completely wrong."

I love this stuff. Where the dems/liberals/du/etc are going to buy a gun and start a revolution. Cuz everyone KNOWS :banghead: that anyone can shoot to kill with one shot and no practice etc. What do all these evil gun owners need all that ammo for. All i need is a gun and i can shoot just like the movies.
Uh huh.
Ever notice about teh 3rd thing a new shooter says (after 'this is awesome", "this is fun") is "Wow, this is hard, really takes work to hit what you are aiming at.
Duh:banghead:
going to be lotfs of bullets flying if they do decide to take to the streets, but not hitting much of anything.

I always get this mental image from a movie (and I can't remember which one), where the door gunner on the helicopter is setting off bursts going "get some, get some"

these people (dems/liberals/du/etc) slay me:confused:

From the article:

Spero, a visiting instructor of modern languages, apologized to O'Donnell in a letter dated Oct. 29.

"I acted entirely inappropriately by kicking you, giving vent to a thoughtless knee-jerk political reaction that should never have happened,"
(emphasis added)

Literally a knee-jerk reaction!!!

More power to him. Maybe through exposure he'll see we ain't so bad. Heck, he could do like I did and realize y'all were right all along. :)

Some people though.. whew. My dad has a friend that's about as far left as you can go and stay out of the looney bin. "Bush knocked down the towers" and all. Somehow he's managed to convince himself that it's really the evil Republicans trying to keep him from getting an AK, despite what the voting record actually says, because it's the evil Republicans that are against civil rights. Silly.

And oh... if it ever did come down to trading lead, I don't know as I'd be so confident. Lots of folks have been proving over the years that at close enough range and with surprise on their side, an illiterate unschooled conscript can still shoot straight enough to kill you, no matter how many times you've attended Front Site or how famous the guy tuning your custom bucks-up wondergun is.

give encouragement to all who would

buy a gun. Tell 'em how neat it is to have several, one for each purpose.
Pretty soon, they'll have a sizable collection worth some real money.

The per unit costs of manufacturing guns will drop as quanity produced increases.

They'll start thinking about protecting their investment, and start contributing to the NRA and RKBA.

Instant reincarnation into one of us!

Now, if they use 'em for insurrection, think how fast the value of your collection will grow! (I remember the race riots in the sixties when all the stores had every shelf cleaned as people began to arm themselves.)

Gee, I guess I try to look for the good in EVERYTHING now that things are gray rather than black or white, with us or against us, Democrat or republican, Kerryist or Bushist:uhoh:

One thing is black and white in my mind. Personal gun ownership is the basis of the freedom in our great nation. I will defend this right in alliance with any (regardless of race, creed, color or political persuasion):scrutiny:

FMJ.

Of course, they will be subject to the liberal 10 day CA waiting period
while the Secret Service checks them out and by that time all of the fun
should be done.

Liberals, at least the far left ones that I know, are, literally, deathly afraid of W and, especially, Rove, Cheney and Rumsfeld. They feel that they are out to take over the world, subjugate all 'little people' to their will and are in the early stages of implementing their plan for world domination, driven by their religious convictions.

I am not kidding. Not even a little bit.

The 2000 elections are seen as evidence of just what the evil right-wing conspiracy is capable of. They believe, stay with me here, that the republicans and their corporate masters took over the gov't of the United States (their gov't) illegally. Everything they have done has been illegal since then. 4 years of festering hatred.

I'm going to paste just a little bit of an email I got from one of my left-ist most friends to illustrate:

because this terrifies me - please tell me in what
ways it is innacurate. if anyone I know would know -
it would be you.

personally, don't think that it is inaccurate, but I'm
willing to listen - b.c I'm so terrified by this kind
of bushism.
She is referring to this flash animation (which is just typical tin-foil anti-republican nonsense).

The point is, the far left is seriously scared, literally afraid, of the Bush administration. They are the embodiment of evil.

That is why this guy is going to buy a gun.

- Gabe

PS: Right-wingers are going to buy guns if Kerry wins, too, (hell, we bought 'em in record numbers when Clinton took office) but it's not because we think he's the leader of some whacked-out star chamber. The left feeds off it's own disinformation. It is in a constant state of near panic and hysteria.

They were probably saying that bush is gonna get us all killed and another 4 years would make this world too dangerous not to have a gun. What a maroon.
