Are you gonna buy an EBR if Kerry Wins?

:what: was i supposed to wait?? i already bought an ar180b. i'm in trouble now. guess i'll have to buy another e.b.r. if he gets elected.:D

WHY?

I stand ready to be corrected but I have heard Kerry supported a bill to ban all semi-automatic rifles, shotguns, and pistols down to and including .22's.

If he gets in, especially if he should get a Democratic majority in both houses, you'll see the AWB from Hell. You'll see the Australian-style gun ban or the UN small arms treaty, which is worse, within two years.

Right now, I'm in the planning stages for my first AR. However, if Kerry wins, I'll buy no less than five (5) stripped lower receivers to put away for those rainy days sure to come.

Then, I'll build them up as time and money allows. I'm talking big, bad AR's, people. We're looking at .45acp, .458 SOCOM, .50 Beowulf, .500 Whisper and whatever else I can come up with.

I'm gonna have bayo lugs and flashiders out the whazzooooo, and it will all be grandfathered! :D

And, of course, I'll buy at least twenty (20) magazines (both 20rnd and 30rnd), just to snub the SOB's.

That's my election-day pledge people. I hope everyone else will join me in this credit card 'gotcha' revolt.

That Kerry creature isn't going to win: America isn't dumb enough to elect a leftist extremist to the presidency.

Never underestimate the stupidity of the American people.

I'll probably get a couple of AR lowers, then I can build them at my convenience. I already have a Daewoo K2 that Bill Clinton sold me, but spare parts are too hard to get and it isn't likely parts kits will be imported.

The real question is how many people are going to buy evil black rifles to celebrate that Kerry creature's defeat next Tuesday.

I'll make you a deal. If Bush wins, I'll order a FAL to celebrate (as soon as I'm done paying off my latest toys). It's just about the only politically incorrect firearm I want that I don't have at this point (well, except for a .50 BMG, but I have neither the money for it nor a place to shoot it).

I am enjoying reading about you guys that live in Free States, planning and actually buying the AR's and AK's and hi-cap mags. For those of us that live in the PRK or PRNJ and a few other benighted areas of the country, all we can do is dream. Before I retired I had access to a range that I designed and also an Uzi to practice with.

If Kerry gets in he will surely do what ever his handlers demand re: disarming the US and turning it into AmeriKa. Setting aside some parts and ammo is a wise idea in any case.

On Friday I walked around our development and met some people at their yard and garage sales. This is mostly retired folks and very few kids. One guy had displayed an.. ughh!...UN flag on his upper deck some time ago. I met his dog and looked at his sale items and casually asked about his ..ughh!...UN flag. He brightened up and said that he had displayed it during the Olympic Games. It was a fitting tribute so he said. He went on further to state that he ...get this now..."Loves the UN" and he also expects Kerry to win! I laughed and said that I had a UN flag also but could not display it until I finished the modifications on it, the red colored circle and slash as in NO UN! He was not amused and accused me of being a Bush Republican. I told him no I was one of 24,000 people in our county registered as "Decline to State"!

He had served in WW2 in the PI and was transferred to Japan for the early part of the occupation. He said he did not get called up for Korea though. I had asked if he ever served in the military under UN Command. He had not. I personally have while in Korea in 1963/64. I tolld him that serving under a UN Command is not where its at.

He mentioned that Kerry served in Vietnam and had several medals that showed what a great military hero he was. I said, yes it is true that he got three Purple Hearts from likely self inflicted scratches and then got out of Vietnam. He scoffed at the idea and said that I must have been reading stuff from those 'Swift Boat Vets.' He also said that most of the SBVets were for Kerry. I told him about the photograph that shows only one in that group that is for him and he dismissed it as propaganda. He refuses to read anything that puts Kerry in a bad light. His mind is closed and made up for Kerry. He even said that he is a Christian and goes to church each week! It seems like Klintoon used that ploy also. I believe even Kerry has done some of that. I do not get to see TV much.

Mutiply this person times X across this country and you see that we will have our work cut out for us no matter who wins.

Evil black rifle

To Phil CA,

Phil, Kerry spent four whole months in 'Nam. He acquired five decorations in that time. That's 1.25 decorations per month and....he has the film to prove it!!!!! He is, in my opinion, the most transparant and disingenuous politician of our time.

Another of my favorite organizations is the U.N. which has now become a "for profit" entity, based on the revelations about "oil for food". Shouldn't they be entitled to make a few bucks on the side? Germany and France has no problem with the same situation. I guess that's why they didn't want to see us go into Iraq.

California, New Jersey, New York and Massachusetts voters keep on re-electing the same politicians no matter what( as do other states). We seem to get the government that we deserve because most voters are willing to trade off freedoms in order to keep what they have worked for and don't mhave much of grasp of the issues.

In my opinion, the Second Amendment is the cornerstone of our Constitution and that's why it was put there. Take away the Second Amendment and everything else becomes vulnerable and indefensible.

Gun control is certainly not about crime. It is all about "people control". History has shown us that and unfortunately, history has a tendency to repeat itself.

Enough of the ramblings of a retired NY construction worker.........Florida has provided a breath of fresh air for the time being and I will work to keep it that way as long as I am able.

Having missed out on the first AWB, I didn't miss out on a (potential) second. I bought matching Armalite AR10A4 and AR15A4 carbines and lots of mags.

I just hope there is no big attack before election day, and that Monday night Bush reminds people that there's been NO big attack since 9/11.

If an AWB II or some such bill goes down, we'll have fair warning to buy rifles at that point before it goes into effect. Until then, I'm going to wait and just save my money. Of course, it'd have to get pretty bad for me to be driven to that point, considering I live under NJ's AWB. You'd need a sweeping ban on just abot all semiautos for it to affect me.

This is something that has scared me for a long time now. The problem isn't that the people will elect Kerry, the problem is that I think enough people might want Bush gone to get it done.

If it does go badly for us I'm already practicing my smile and my line. "Guns ya say? Hell, I sold off all those damn things years ago to some guy called himself John Smith. I bet he's in the phone book. Oh, I do have this rusty old 1911. Doesn't have a slide, but you guys can have it anyway. Hey, maybe you guys can help me find those aliens that stole my pants. They were about yay tall with beady little eyes and spoke with a simoan accent..."

Wasn't there a post awhile back about the UPPERS getting banned as well in AWB II? Or more specificially the parts kits that they sell to go along with a stripped lower receiver.

As for me, I'm going to order a FAB-10 and some kind of parts kit online if Kerry wins. I'm also going to get a 10/22 on Wednesday since they're on sale this week at Big 5. Maybe a Semi-Auto shotgun too. Come to think of it, I still don't have any tactical tupperware either...

Can't - don't room for any more in the safes...
(Don't know where I'm going to put the BREN semi when it gets here.) :uhoh:

My AR is almost complete and if he gets elected, I WILL be going against the grain and charging the plastic to acquire some firearms, ammo and a few more mags.

What are the chances that AWB II when it comes will be retroactive?
In other words, turn in the ones you own that are covered by the ban, like California.
That notion gives me pause...

Retroactive prohibition of certain guns should not surprise anyone if it happens. The anti-gun crowd will start with requiring registration, saying that any good citizen should not mind merely registering guns, just like registering cars. Then increased fees and restrictions will be placed on the guns, such as a $500 annual fee, and the requirement that they be kept at the local police station, etc. and then when known owners fail to comply, the guns will be confiscated. I have no doubt that this might well happen. Most of my guns were bought in the last five years at licensed gun dealers in Illinois, and it would not surprise me to see a law passed requiring even old sales records be turned over to the Attorney General to create a registry of guns (all for our own good of course). IF worst comes to worst, the guns I bought many, many years ago in Texas when all you needed was cash and to show your drivers license (no information was recorded at the time of the sale), will still be possible to keep far from the prying eyes of the police state. If you want to really be scared, talk to friends, family and co-workers and see how many otherwise reasonable people support gun registration, confiscation of hand guns, prohibition of semi-automatic weapons (since they don't understand the difference between semi and fully automatic) and who would not be overly upset if the 2nd Amendment was repealed.

I'm sure as heck going to try and buy a vepr. The way I figure it, I'll have a couple of extra months until he can get a ban passed

I would be stocking up at a rate of about one EBR/month, starting with a 20" AR-15, following with a DSA-58, and finishing with an AK. Not to mention a CX-4. Spare mags. Optics. Ammo. Repeat until ban in place.
