Are you gonna buy an EBR if Kerry Wins?

For newbies, EBR=Evil Black Rifle. An Ar-15 or equivalent (AK, FAL, G3, etc.)

My opinion is this election is too close to call. Don't debate that here, there are threads in Legal and Political on that. So, we have to think about the worst case.

The question before you now, is...

If Kerry wins the White House, are you going to run out and buy a "post-post-ban" EBR before the the Assault Weapons Ban, or something worse, is passed?

I had several other guns on my wish list, but if Kerry wins it, I'm probably going to have to buy my first AR.

How 'bout you?

I have thought about buying some AR lower receivers for just that purpose. I don't see any reason why they would ever get any cheaper than they are now, so it seems a reasonable place to have some money inveseted. In the event of another ban of some sort I could sell them for a profit or just keep them around to distribute to friends as I woo them into the gun-nut fold.

Already considered it. I built myself a FAL last year and two AR-15s last spring/summer. Still have one more FAL to finish assembly on and might possibly buy another lower for a spare AR-15 upper I have though.

I don't have the cash for a complete gun right now (at least not the kind I'd want), but I'd seriously consider buying a lower.

I plan on stocking up on pistol ammo. As much as Kerry and his ilk hate "assault weapons" they hate handguns more. No one is going to take away my guns, but they could make it hard or impossible or too costly to get ammunition. As long as I can buy ammo without giving my name and address, I plan to stock up and feel I can wait out the radicals in the Kerry camp should he actually be elected. I might buy another pistol or two if I can afford it as well.

Also bought a nice pre-ban WASR-10 just because it was a very nice speciment and it's one of those EEEEVIL AK-47s that Brady said would "flood the streets" after the ban (funny that mine is pre-ban since Brady doesn't appear to think such an animal existed -- okay, so I can't do a bayonet charge, maybe that was her concern).

Now on to the mag-ordering binge.

I already did it, mostly because of the possible President Kerry in the future. That was the biggest reason, but I also wouldn't rule out the possibility of gun legislation happening under Bush.

If Kerry wins, I'll just keep an eye on the political situation, so as to make my EBR/handguns before any possible ban is in place.

I certainly hope you are right but thats what I said about Clinton, twice. I also said Hillary would never run for the Senate. Then I swore there was no way she could win. I think Americans today, especially some of the idiots I work with, would buy anything if it was packaged right.

I already purchased my CETME a few months ago. I don't have a good feeling about this election, and I suspect that gun-owners will come under fire over the next 4-8 years.

So I purchased the CETME, and almost 50 20rn mags.

Now I just need a bayo lug, and flash hider.
