limit of guns bought in a month in IL?

This sounds like BS to me but one of the guys at work(not the guard captain this time) told me that a person can't buy more then three guns(or was it hanguns?) at a gunshop here in IL.

Now before and after I got my FOID last year, and since I go to the range on a BICYCLE. I did some heavy research about the firearms laws in IL, and while I may have missed a few areas this the time I heard of this.

He claims that this is what the gunshop he goes to has told him.

No, in fact there are extra reporting requirements for more than two at at a time (I think--and I think those are federal.)

There's an effort on to pass a bill limiting people to one gun per month, but it hasn't passed and isn't likely to do so.

If I remember correctly, there is an extra form (federal) that must be filled out if buying two or more within a five day period from the same FFL. Jim.

The federal form is for reporting a person who buys more than 1 handgun in a week's time.

I hope the "one gun a month bill" does not pass or I am going to have to get another safe mine is almost full and getting a new gun every month will fill it up quickly
