I happend to read it ,when reading a article about Lohans latest stalker. Turns out shes going to take shooting lessons:uhoh:

LOL I would'nt want to be on the firing line while shes out there. Girls a drama queen.

LIFE STYLE EXTRA (UK) - Lindsay Lohan has a stalker.

The 'Mean Girls' actress has been receiving letters from a male fan giving her his name and phone number and begging for them to meet up.

According to reports, the same person has been sending bunches of flowers to the 20-year-old star on the set of her new movie 'Georgia Rule'.

A memo has been posted on the gate where the film is being made which reads: "One of our actresses has a stalker."

The alert comes just weeks after Lindsay revealed she had a fan who was pursuing her.

She said at the time: "He says he's going to e at the Chateau Marmont before my birthday and prove to me that we're meant to be together, even if he has to take me away and teach me. They have a picture of him there. It's scary."

Meanwhile, Lohan is planning to pay a visit to US troops in Iraq.

She said: "I've been trying to go for so long.

"I'm not afraid of going. My security guard is going to take me to a gun range when I get back to Los Angeles, and I'm going to start taking shooting lessons."

Yes, but this is Lohan afterall. Think of it her and guns. When she turns 21 I wonder how hard it will be for her to get her CCW in "may issue" California.

I'm gonna say that the sad points are vastly outweighed by the cool points. Maybe she is just a teen-star mouthpiece, but that's still a mouthpiece on our side. I'll take that any day of the week.

Bottom line, its a girl taking initiative to learn to defend herself. I fail completely to see any downside.

I agree with low. And also think that she would have no trouble getting a CWL. She's one of "them" not one of "us"

Jesse

I agree with Low-Sci on this. Who cares who she is or why she is doing it.... shes a public figure using a firearm for self-defense.

A pretty little actress carrying a pistol for protection beats an old white actor with an O/U cracked over his shoulder. We could use the help.

Besides, I would take her to the range anyday.

Yep, shes one of "them"

Look at the bay area. Diane "Frankenstein" and Sean Penn are one of the only ones in the Bay area with permits. Isn't there like only 6 carry permits in San Fran I can recall?

More reason why may issue easily is a civil rights violation picking and choosing who you want because of the star status, or if they support the DemoKratic party for example.

If anyone on here went to LA, or San Fran and asked for CCW they would laugh at you. Thank god Im in shall issue state, and out of state permits are good here too.:)

I would aggree that the good outweighs the bad...IF she actually is one of us. As in, she truly believes every citizen should have access to firearms, not just actresses with "real" problems the commoners don't have to deal with.

Her best bet would be to get in touch with Gavin De Becker's firm (author of "The Gift Of Fear") and have them handle it, it's what they specialize in. He's a bit anti-gun...but this isn't a "gun" kinda problem. If she still wants to keep and bear arms anyway, that's fine too as long as she isn't a hypocrite about it.

Methinks many of you are being too hard on her.....she's a 20 year old girl who's been insulated from many things we take for granted as reality. Youth and inexperience though is what it boils down to, and EVERYONE here should be able to relate to that.

Hope she has a safe trip and keeps up with the shooting lessons.

Well we can always ask the NRA to see if she is willing to be a spokesmodel. I am willing to bet that she does get a CCW if she applies for one. It is good that she wants to learn to shoot but the question is will she carry? Furthermore would she mind if I carried?

And can you post a link to the article? I would like to post this on a few other forums.

Hollywood Hypocrisy

So she's going to take some shooting lessons from her bodyguard. Big........

Deal.

No matter how many movies Hollywood churns out where the "good guy" solves his problems with bullets the actors invariably turn up on the other side, pratting about how we need more gun control.

These people don't live the life we do. Their jobs aren't in bad neighborhoods. They don't live in bad neighborhoods. They call the cops and the cops are THERE with a response time that others can only dream about. They have expensive security systems and armed bodyguards.

They lack any basic human compassion for ordinary people. They still believe the fairytale that what we need are more laws.

Do I expect to see an "I'm the NRA" poster with Lohan? Nope. Even if she wanted to I'll bet her manager talks her out of it. The money people who fund her stardom don't want that sort of message getting out.

I think it's good. There are (sadly) a lot of people who will listen to here, and may also look into lessons. Much better than if she said something wild and foolish.

I don't see how it can hurt till the media starts to spin it into the wild.

Big whoop.

Tell me this when she isn't the poster child for total spoiled brat-i-tude

hillbilly

Another non-issue. She's never gonna be a "poster child" for gun rights. I'm surprised that her PR people let that quote about shooting lessons get through.

That said, she's had her own problems in life... how many people can grow up totally sane with alcoholic parents? Add in all the glory hunters and money hunters I'm sure she's surrounded by, and it's surprising she's not another Paris Hilton.

Bottom line, congratulate her, for having common sense, and don't expect your priorities to suddenly become HER priorities...

Great. So long as her bodyguard is a competent instructor, and she pays attention. A big headline about Lohan putting a round thru herself would be just the kind of PR the RKBA needs. I can see the resulting rush to the anti-gun rallies by the MTV zombies now.

Of course, even if all goes well, and she carries, and does it responsibly, who here believes she'd stay in the limelight? Hollywood would quickly ensure she faded into obscurity, no way would that bastion of the left let that kind of image get out. A lovely young "in" lady carrying for her defense? Not a chance in hell of that being tolerated.

These kind of things have two outcome possibilities for us:

1. Nothing bad happens, so we get no PR.
2. Something bad happens, so we get bad PR.

Thems the breaks when those who control the entertainment industry are on the wrong side of the issue.

Gavin De Becker ... He's a bit anti-gun
Which is about like saying that your girlfriend is a bit pregnant

He is a totally irrational hoplophobe, having apparently had some sort of bad gun experience as a child.

He is also a hypocrite... it's okay for his security firm to be armed to the teeth but not us peons :barf:

And ... the whole premise of his book is that you can always identify a dangerous person in advance, but people shouldn't own guns because you can never tell when someone will suddenly become dangerous

As for Lindsay - I liked her best in Parent Trap :)

So long as her bodyguard is a competent instructor

Not to generalize too much, but from my experience most "bodyguards" have their jobs because they're big and know how to intimidate people. I've met only a few who were actually any good if SHTF.

I think that a lot of you are missing the boat on this one.

This is a very good press release for all of us. Why, you might ask. Well, it’s important for a number of reasons. First, no matter what we think of her, people in the early teen to early 20’s demographic idolize, respect, and/or aspire to be like her. Her saying that she is going to be taking shooting lessons will resonate through the next generation as a pro gun celebrity that they identify with. Keep in mind that these are the age groups that are subjected to brain washing by MTV, anti-teachers, etc. To have a prominent figure, in their minds, openly “admitting” that she wants gun lessons, not for hunting, but for self defense, is a very good thing for us.

I don't think that Lindsay learning to shoot helps gun advocacy any more than celebrities getting married helps marraige advocacy.

Anything bigger than a .22 will knock her on her can. She's about $.90 soaking wet. And I also roll my eyes at her 'protecting her life' when she's trying as hard as she can to kill herself, smoking with athsma and living 6-day weekends.

You sound like one of the gun shop workers that some people are talking about in another current thread on THR. My wife is a very tiny woman, and she can handle much bigger than a .22 pistol.

Good on her for wanting to learn how to safely use a firearm. Hopefully that's what she ends up learning when she goes shooting.

As for Lohan's other decisions with how she lives her life...that's not for THR so I won't comment on any of it.

Regards,
